  1. I think that has more to do with the re-aired game broadcasts. it says "these shows" but maybe they were just sloppy with wording
  2. so does this replace the comcast stuff? comcast has kruetz, briggs, alex brown, and i think some others i might be forgetting (forte?) i wonder who they will get as on air talent, bears-wise, if they can't get those guys
  3. That was an absolutely bizarre signing by the Bears. Actually, not the signing itself, but the signing combined with the complete absence of any sort of idea of what to do with Davis. It was one of several transactions since Pace got here where the right hand (coaching staff) didn’t seem to know what the left hand (Pace) was doing. I don't see it that way. Mike Davis was signed before they drafted Montgomery. I think DM impressed them in camp and preseason, and I think they had a plan for Davis, but Montgomery caused them to change those plans. Next thing you know, they realized they weren't using him very much and the deadline to cut him and regain a comp pick came up. And they figured the pick was worth more than Davis' 3-4 touches a game. man i would've never guessed the mike davis thing was just last year. feels like 5 years ago.
  4. Projects to like a 1 WAR player in the majors IIRC that's what i thought meh
  5. Weird. Meanwhile, Football Outsiders has the Bears as the 5th worst 3-0 team in terms of DVOA since 1985 (overall ranked 17th in the league) https://www.footballoutsiders.com/dvoa-ratings/2020/week-3-dvoa-ratings PFF subjectively grades each play based on what (they think) each guy's job is, and FO is pure numbers and algorithms, as i understand it, so i wouldn't expect them to necessarily line up (if at all). that said, i don't really look at DVOA seriously until at least 6 or 7 weeks in. THAT said, i think FO is closer to the mark than PFF on these Bears, but we'll see.
  6. it's not that odd. it's an elimination game and there's about a 50/50 chance of showers for the next 9 hours. it would be shitty to have to play that game (especially with darvish) in a win or go home game. and if they wanted us in prime-time that badly, why are we the last resort for tomorrow's night slot?
  7. holy horsefeathers that gave me an obscene amount of anxiety and made me feel feelings i haven't felt since like 1991
  8. i had never heard of this guy, but he seems cool based on those pictures. RIP JJ. also, a quick google search indicates he was really fond of those umbrella hat things.
  9. Wins are always good, regardless of the opponents. But the3wins are against teams that are currently 0-8 and most 0-9 by the end of the day. Those three teams probably picking in the Top 5 of the draft. Not sure why you choose this post in particular to respond to, or why you felt the need as a Packers fan to horsefeathers on a really fun victory that had nothing to do with your team but ok. It's because Packers fans are unquestionably garbage.
  10. They're on TNF against Tampa, October 8th. Monday night at the Rams on Week 7 and against the Vikings on Week 10. No SNF games (unless they're flexed later) aside from the at Green Bay game, Week 12.
  11. The 10 AM starts are fun in small doses when I'm in Vegas, but noon is the best IMO. Unlike most, though, I prefer when the Bears are on later so I can enjoy the full slate without having a Bears outcome to care about yet.
  12. fwiw, the other day, one of the beat guys (think it was fishbain but not positive) made it sound like the mack thing is nothing more than load management and saving his bullets for the games. he said he asked mack about it and mack said he was "learning to be a pro" or something like that.
  13. and they are among the league leaders in pressures while also being among the lightest on blitzing.
  14. yeah. i'm still not sweating eloy, and it's early but cease is probably a nothing. sucks that quintana turned out the way he did, though.
  15. i mean he was never gonna be a high on the depth chart guy. i think it's far more of a testament to how confident they are in mooney than cutting bait on the other depth speed WR.
  16. i'm sad feels like yesterday i was at his debut with no bleachers and fans pissing in their beer cups
  17. thats about right
  18. took longer than i thought for this ass bag to horsefeathers up again but finally one of our own helped take him out too
  19. i said it elsewhere, not sure if i said it here, but if he goes back to playing like 2018 mitch (much better than 2019 but not very good), that is not a fun spot to be in.
