  1. Is Chip available? i'd prefer that over myers by a longshot, and that is saying a LOT
  2. My hottest in the moment take is that if Len wanted to do radio so badly then they should've put Pat(who has very much lost his fastball) out to pasture. i don't disagree, but they'd never do that (and len would probably want nothing to do with forcing him out) aren't you my anti-vin scully buddy too?
  3. my first instinct would have been to think it was longer, but i also wouldn't know the exact year harry started with the cubs without looking it up.
  4. again, if len really wants to just nerd out and wanted to do radio without having to uproot his family and this was just a timing thing, so be it. if that's what he wants, he should do whatever makes him happy. i tend to, like others, suspect that all the nonsense going on with the Cubs had at least something to do with nudging him that way, but maybe it really is just the opportunity presenting himself. whatever. but please let these idiots not make the same mistake the white sox did with TLR and ignore the immediate backlash for what is so obviously a terrible choice. do not horsefeathering give this job to chris myers.
  5. I don't know why anyone 'likes' anything on Twitter. If I like something enough to signal I like it, I'll retweet it. If I don't like it enough to retweet it, or don't want people seeing that I like it, then I shouldn't be clicking the button anyway. this is a weird take. if my friend (or even some random person i follow) makes a tweet that i thought was funny or tweets about something cool that happened to them or something, i can like it without wanting to share the actual tweet with whoever the hell follows me. there are plenty of situations where a like makes more sense than an RT and vice versa.
  6. i've seen kolten wong to the cubs speculation if you really want to get ding dong johnson riled up.
  7. this is dumb as horsefeathers why the hell is he obligated to put up with dumb horsefeathers he doesn't like at work if he doesn't have to? that makes him a child? FOH and i'm pretty sure he never complained about the suits publicly (and even sorta did the opposite). if he had a problem with it, he has every right to look elsewhere and it's none of your damn business why he was or wasn't happy with his work environment.
  8. i'm sad about len but i'm far more pissed about myers at least hire someone horsefeathering good and not that ass clown
  9. what the horsefeathers!?
  10. obviously just workout footage but he looks pretty skilled here
  11. It seems that he had more upside than most in this draft. Since it is a weak draft why not take a high upside guy? Correct
  12. I don't really see how it's fair to be livid. Also most of those people at realGM are insane. Toolsy guy we took fourth overall in a very weak draft. Who knows. We'll see what happens.
  13. Not sure what you mean. Maybe that Bill Walsh quote was treated as gospel more than it should have but i never expected him to last longer than 1 more season. It makes sense given where the Cubs are at that he would leave now. Maybe he would have stayed if the Cubs were spending like they should be, but I'd guess not. Fake edit: Or do you mean PTR caused the ending to the Theo era to be disappointing? i mean that if this team were still winning and TV money were coming in and PTR hadn't chickened out of spending after what happened with heyward (at best, if you give him this much credit), this wouldn't be happening. if this team were still making deep playoff runs and had healthy and big cash flow like the dodgers, there's not a chance in hell this would be happening. he'd be here at least as long as he could collect some more rings. that quote was a convenient line to throw in to address jumping off a sinking ship (which is what he's doing now, as he should), not him laying out the rest of his career.
  14. agree
  15. hey now he left us brennen davis like he left the red sox mookie
  16. Bummer. Really thought things would end differently, but PTR really leaned in and went full PTR and that was the nail in the coffin.
  17. the way this season has gone, i'm glad i consider all these pandemic seasons to be fake so my emotional investment is minimal. it's just mindless entertainment for me when they actually play the games, and after those 3 hours i don't care at all. is this how casual fans do sports fanning? fantasy and the occasional sports bets are the only things getting me emotionally invested in games at all this year. it's almost a relief my teams suck rn. example - i kinda would've hated if the Cubs had broken the drought this year (granted, at least football is playing something resembling a full season).
  18. my internet at home is no longer recognizing my location as being in the cubs territory when i try to sign in through my provider. (I was trying to set it up on a new TV) i'm in evanston. obviously in territory. didn't let me sign in on the new tv and now when i try to do the same on my laptop and phone, it doesn't work (and it used to). Anyone else have a problem like this or any suggestions? I have a feeling that I wouldn't get far and would just get a bunch of finger pointing at each other if I called customer support for any of the companies involved
  19. get a load of this thread lmao thing is most of the posters there are pissed about the hiring (or at least they were yesterday). but the people who run this site aren't all there
  20. we can only hope i'm going to worry that if he's still alive the next time they get good, he swoops in to hire 90 year old phil jackson to yell at everyone to shoot more 2s
  21. 2 linemen seems like a stretch. I felt like there's 1 whole one, a half and 2 quarters, but I admit I'm an optimist. yeah i figured you were probably counting fractionally
  22. yeah yeah yeah. we get it. we know. go away man.
  23. Damn.
  24. to add to this, indianapolis and tampa bay have the top two defenses in the league by DVOA thus far. i think that's useful context. https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/nfl/team-defense/2020
