  1. no surprise here, but here's the bears being reported as involved by a legit source
  2. mannn this sekou smith news is hitting me harder than i would've guessed https://www.instagram.com/p/CJtT83JsHZf/ his last instagram post
  3. this is basically how i feel about it and all i was trying to say i know dudes that are creepy enough to do stuff like this but they wouldn't be outwardly bragging about it, especially not at work (and especially if it involved work contacts and 50+ unanswered texts). maybe i'm just naive. it just didn't add up to me as something someone would be telling a bunch of his coworkers about or that would be common knowledge at work.
  4. i mean, i'm not even saying for certain that he didn't know something about it (or entirely). i just don't think they were all joking around about porter's dick pics to the japanese reporter while they pounded natty lights and played air hockey.
  5. i don't know. as frat broey as those guys may be, they are far from being idiots. i can't imagine theo would be cool with that type of horsefeathers going on and would just look the other way while something as egregious as a relatively high level employee sending a work contact dick pics is being talked about casually. this was only 4-5 years ago, not 15-20. maybe i'm going too fan boy on this but theo is far from stupid and is, at the very least, well aware of the fact that that would be extremely problematic. it would only be a matter of time before it became a big problem for him. that said, i'm sure some people knew. Theo and Jed seem to be, work hard play hard type of guys. All hires are a reflection of management, but I would have to think that they wouldn't tolerate... nevermind, they traded for Chapman and kept Russell. So yeah, I'm not giving them the benefit of the doubt. i'm not going to deny that you make a valid point by bringing up those assholes. i just think those situations are different than theo risking his career and reputation to sweep some dork like jared porter's creepiness under the rug.
  6. Yeah, Boozey McFakemustache and his bros didn't give a horsefeathers about this kind of stuff. i don't know. as frat broey as those guys may be, they are far from being idiots. i can't imagine theo would be cool with that type of horsefeathers going on and would just look the other way while something as egregious as a relatively high level employee sending a work contact dick pics (following 50+ unanswered texts) is being talked about casually like some hilarious joke. this was only 4-5 years ago, not 15-20. maybe i'm going too fan boy on this but theo is far from stupid and is, at the very least, well aware of the fact that that would be extremely problematic. it would only be a matter of time before it became a big problem for him. that said, i'm sure some people knew.
  7. we can fire ted. he can retire. it's not really going to make much of a difference. the same boobs are gonna hire his replacement and are gonna have most of the input in hiring the actual football guys. he's a symptom more than he is a problem.
  8. What is it about this set-up that you guys don't get? This isn't Crane and the Cubs. This isn't McDonough and the Blackhawks. Ted has football input by virtue of having direct input on who the GM is, and he's had it for decades. i mean if it weren't ted, that line ultimately ends at the mccaskeys (just like it would with PTR on the cubs hiring the head baseball guy) so what are we really arguing about here? this ownership is always going to determine who the hires are, so we better just hope they get lucky at some point.
  9. yeah, biggs was on the score this morning saying he has no idea what's going on...said that the bears could have easily scheduled end of season pressers for pace and nagy with firm date/time and they haven't (just an open ended TBA), so as to suggest that it may mean something.
  10. lovie was fired on new year's eve 2012-13, which was a monday.
  11. would've gotten me a push on my draftkings profit boost promo bet on the bears at +11. oh well lol.

similar upgrade from a clown show coach (cartwright) to an at least representative/competent and respected nba head coach

that was a fun night cap after the other Ws
  15. seriously had the same thought. i can't believe this slipped past goony.
  16. not really a hot take. at worst it's a lateral move.
  17. who among us hasn't?
  18. i figured if we got him we'd have to deal with myers for some percentage of games. 30ish is about my maximum but I can deal with that.
  19. finally some cubs related news that isn't terrible.

    Bulls '20-'21

Even me? someone from chicago who grew up in the 90s picking the celtics over the bulls as their team to root for has got to say something about them. it's actually really similar to becoming a cubs fan as a south sider in the 90s lol
  21. between tatis and darvish alone, i'm ready to stan the padres
  22. not sure if you were meaning to imply otherwise, but willson's value shouldn't exactly be at a low point right now. weird 2020 stuff aside, he improved drastically defensively (in ways that look like they'll stick) and he wasn't bad offensively.
  23. horsefeathers it, burn it down. i'm ready to embrace it and will relish all the horsefeathers the ricketts get for this. i want them to go down in flames.
