  1. Its weird it wasnt in park. Dudes lucky somebody came along otherwise hed have crashed into something eventually. Going at 2 MPH he coudln't cause that much damage. You think his car tops out at 2 mph? In that case, I don't know what we're all worried about. Considering he was sleeping, I think he's assuming (rightly or wrongly), that at that point, all he'd be doing is idling forward.
  2. Joke? Not a joke.......at SS, defense is more important than offense. You realize that ARod is the best SS on his team, right? That's one place you can start. Then there's the fact that defense at any position ISN'T more important than offense. Then there's the fact that a lineup of productive hitters of any kind will score more runs and win more games than a lineup with less productive hitters. I guess I'll stop there...
  3. True... but going from Juan Pierre to Soriano is a huge bump. So is having Lee back for a full season. It'll definitely be improved significantly. How much is anybody's guess.
  4. If by, "pretty good," you mean average at best (but more than likely below average), I would have to agree with you.
  5. It's the mid-90's Indians way of doing things. I like it.
  6. Joke? Not a joke.......at SS, defense is more important than offense. If it's not a joke, it's just very, very wrong. How is it very wrong.......when's the last lineup that had all HR hitters that did well. Not to mention both our infield defense and outfield defense will be bad. Arod isn't young anymore, he can't play SS like the way he used to. It is so wrong and misguided in so many ways that I don't even want to begin explaining why it's wrong.
  7. Didn't you hear him? Lineups with all home run hitters just can't be good.

  9. Not to further the threadjack, but... Trading Murton in a deal for Ichiro would be monumentally stupid. Oh, and Soriano will not be hitting anywhere other than leadoff.
  10. Seeing those pictures, LaRussa and the Fonz look sort of alike.
  11. I want in on the Marquis being a terrible pitcher action too.
  12. That is a ludacris statement, while I love Mike Brown, this team will not be 500 without him. How many games has he played the last 2 years, and yet the Bears are 24-8 duing the regular season. http://www.daveyd.com/ludacris97.jpg
  13. MyNameIsSlimJD Wow. Brilliant.
  14. I'm tryin to make comedy. It's not based in reality. In that case, loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool.
  15. I don't mean just bleeping. I mean all-out editing and only playing things they deem worthy of playing. There are commentators (as much as the ESPN ones suck), after all. They can't just have the ump stuff on all game. They'll only play it with a highlight or two during/after the game, just like when they mic players.
  16. With ESPN? Trust me, it will be every freakin play. You'll get to hear the HP umpire yapping quick nibblets of guck to the hitter and catcher after every pitch. I highly doubt that. They're not going to let that get on the air without them being able to edit it first.
  17. They do? Did they get him in the trade for Ryan Sandberg and Greg Maddox? Just messin'.
  18. Can't say that's my favorite quote of the spring... That's the nature of the beast unless you're a small market team. Yea. I think that's more of him just being glad to be out of Tampa Bay with somewhat of an extreme example of a young team. I wouldn't read too much into it.
  19. How can Prior have an option left? He's been up since mid 2002. Shouldn't his option years have ended last year? Fixed.
  20. Is this supposed to be some sort of philosophical thing? Wow... so trippy...
  21. .293/.361/.436 for Renteria last year
  22. 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K since his return from the injury. Very good strikeout/walk ratio and K/9 innings. :D I like the move.. But I would've preferred a couple more appearances before they decided it for sure. Why? It shouldn't be based on spring training in the first place.
  23. Lou is watching  I think Ryan will play a fair amount of games; news today is he (or DeRosa) will be in RF, instead of Jones, against LHP. Where'd you hear this? This is very, very good news.
  24. "How do you 'half expect' something?" "half" means I'm not fully expecting it to happen... Sorry. It was a Family Guy reference. "I don't know. It's just a turn of phrase." "How do you turn a phrase?" "God, you're stupid."
