  2. Oh, right.. I hate AL baseball and the Cubs were on WGN all the time >_< STUPID wgn >=[
  3. I live in North Eastern Ohio. I became a Cubs fan in 96/97. I have absolutely no idea why I'm not an Indians fan. But I want to shoot the part of my brain that made this decision for me.
  4. Who was also highly expensive iirc
  5. Against a pitcher who they traded for possibly the worst centerfielded in recent memory.
  6. We're beyond ha-ha funny. Only this team could call a player meeting to discuss how to turn things around, then play one of their worst games of the season. With the wind blowing out.
  7. Fixed already =/
  8. Go look at the main page on Cubs.com. They have Guzman's name as Andre Guzman.
  9. In that "not at all funny and really kind of pathetic" kind of way.
  10. This has most likely been discussed already, but honestly... at what point do we make a grown man take responsibility for his own actions? All these law suits are ridiculous, in my opinion. I could totally understand suing the bar if he was under twenty-one or it was his twenty first birthday, but this guy was 29 years old. Hopefully in court, most or all the blame is put on his shoulders, I would hate to see others paying out big money because of somebody else's immaturity.
  11. I wouldn't call Howry a bust. And in Hendry's defense, for every Eyre, Remlinger, Hawkins, etc... there has been a Karos, Ramirez, Grudzielanek, Lilly, Marquis, etc. He hasn't been all bad. You're over-exaggerating terribly and it makes me a sad panda =/
  12. It made me sick when Len and Bob were talking about how he hadn't been charged with an ER yet this season a while back. Seems like all he ever does is walk people =/
  13. Exactly. Can you imagine the nerve of the guy? I'll bet he's lounging in his backyard right now sucking down some cold brews, or getting ready for another round of golf this afternoon. But seriously, the Kerry bashing here has reached new depths of cluelessness. Rehab is unpredictable and painful as hell. Of course he is. Obviously he planned the whole thing: sign a huge contract and then strategically injure himself so he won't have to earn it. I mean there is that constant rehab, public pressure, derision and long term health effects, but that's nearly as bad a pitching every fifth day, right? He also gets the added bonus of never getting the huge contract that pitchers with his talent are receiving these days! kerry lives in River North and doesn't have a backyard. Wow... it's almost like they knew that and were using blatant sarcasm to poke fun at the users who never think before they post stupid stuff about Kerry Wood.
  14. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

  16. Well, it was a while ago and I might not have remembered it exactly right. Give me a minute, I'll find the story.
  17. Translation: Don't expect him back anytime soon. :( Yeah I'd be shocked if we saw him in 07.
  18. Last I heard was that his tendons were too used to not doing work, that when he actually did work, they got sore and he wasn't sure when he was going to be able to throw.
  19. Hendry's big fault is that he relied on Prior and Wood too much. I feel he built solid teams the entire time, but he didn't account for the possibility of injury (dumb move, I know.) This year, he took action and now we have no Prior, no Wood, and we still have a pretty good team. I'm decently happy with him.
  20. It's also possible that the #21 jersey he wears has steroids soaked into it from it's previous wearer, and Marquis is benefiting from that.
  21. Marquis has always been a lot better in the first half. I'll wait until he's a few starts into the second half before I pass my judgment on him. So far, it's hard to argue with the results. It's possible that maybe Rothschild found something and fixed it, it's also possible that he just rocks in the first half.
  22. I have to agree. Even when they were struggling I could see that they were just a few breaks here and there away from winning most of the games. I'm not declaring them the NLC champs or anything based off of this recent good play, but when Ramirez and Barrett start playing a little better, and Howry, Zambrano, and Eyre start pitching the way we all know they can, this will be a team to reckon with. I have made my random bi-monthly appearance here on NSBB. Time to vanish again. BYE! :o
  23. OMG that is funny. Anyone seem that weight loss crap that had Dan Marino? They have Kruk on there with this quote: "My wife thinks I look less disgusting now" Less disgusting = she still thinks he looks disgusting That was kinda the point of the joke... and it was kinda obvious. Thanks for pointing it out, though.
  24. Through my http://www.gamebattles.com corruption, I have about 30 unused e-mail addresses. Hopefully I can remember the passwords to them and send a vote from all of them.
  25. Miller could get moved up to third in the rotation with Marquis's lame ass getting shipped out if Prior dominates...
