  1. I've been lucky enough to get really, really good seats every time I've gone, but with the way the park is structured it doesn't seem like there is a bad seat in the place, and the view you get of the river/bridge is really nice looking. It helped though, that the last time I went was a late September 03 game where Aramis Ramirez hit two home runs and the Cubs beat them pretty good.
  2. I would like the Brewers much more if they wore their retro uniforms permanently. Their new logo and uniforms are pretty terrible.
  3. The pirates have the best baseball stadium I have ever been to. Thought I'd throw that in there. For the record, I have not gotten to Wrigley yet. Hoping to do that next season.
  4. I can't either.
  5. Back on track? The bullpen has been amazingly effective for about a month. Dempster coming back to pitch his one inning (rarely with inherited runners on) when they have a lead in the 9th isn't going to make much of a difference. He's an average pitcher who has had success at times. By back on track, I mean get everybody pitching where they're supposed to be pitching. I wasn't denying that they have been good. Understood. I just don't really buy into the whole defined roles (setup, closer, etc.) in the bullpen thing. Use your best pitchers when you really need the outs and use your less talented guys when you can maybe afford to give up a run or two. Just my opinion. I understand that point of view, but I've always been more of a fan of having clear cut roles. I think it benefits each pitcher when he knows what situation he'll likely be facing. Either way, Dempster is a good pitcher that helps this ballclub. Having him in the bullpen is a very big plus. And with Howry pitching well now, being able to use him in the 7th, Marmol in the 8th, and Dempster back and him in the 9th will be a huge help for the bullpen.
  6. Oh man, Len and Bob seem to love this deal, saying that there is nothing not to like about it. For the first time in a real long time, I'm disgusted in their announcing. I don't expect them to openly say he sucks, but they act like we just locked up the division or something.
  7. Well, I mean, he sucks this year. Typical Cubbie trade. At least we didn't give up anything worthwhile for him. His numbers last season would look nice if he can trick himself into thinking he's still good. How much does he make nowadays?
  8. I'm watching on MLB.TV. What's he saying exactly? And what does Theriot have to do with it?
  9. This will make it that much more painful to see him go if it comes to that.
  10. I really like the two easy outs in the bottom of the order today against a good pitcher. And as I typed that Koyie hill hit a home run. I'll shut up.

  12. Yeah having our closer back and getting our bullpen back on track isn't good news for the club at all.
  13. Overused jokes don't make me laugh that much. Napoleon Dynamite never was funny to me...
  14. You asked an odd question, then failed to explain exactly what you meant by it. Are you asking if we think that if we keep winning, and lets say have a 4 or so game lead on the brewers heading into the trade deadline...that Hendry would decide we were fine and leave things as they are? No, I don't. If we keep winning, it just makes it that much more likely that we'll get another bat.
  15. Since nobody else was updating, Loretta flew out, 0-2 count on Lamb.
  16. He certainly SHOULD, but there was no sign of life in the bullpen so I'm assuming that this is his inning.
  17. OK, not exactly why I love Soriano batting 5th in this game, I guess. BUT we now have firm control of the momentum. Let's hope Marquis can give us one more inning, then get him out of there.
  18. And THIS is exactly why I love having Soriano batting 5th in this game
  19. That helps, thank god Wandy is horrible. I'd rather have Ramirez up here, but I'll take Lee.
