Don't click on it then for god sakes. i'll wager a guess that he didn't Then who cares if the dude makes a video. Its like complaing about a post or a bad thread...don't read it. sorry, that just bugs me. This board used to be much more friendly. Usually the brutal sarcasm and other rude remarks make me laugh. These ones didn't, the video was pretty funny.
Don't do that to me. I miss Mark Prior. :( What's so strange is I feel like that post-season was 5000 years ago. I still remember it vividly, but it just feels so long ago. Wierd seeing Lee on the Marlins boxscore. I remember it all very well, too. I could, off the top of my head, tell you everything that happened in the top of the 8th inning in game 6. I think that scarred me for life.
Well, looking at him from another team's standpoint, he's got great speed, good defense, can play any outfield spot, is only 25, and is very cheap. He could be valuable as a throw-in to get a deal done.
That I agree with. If the Cubs had to get rid of Barrett to keep Zambrano, I am all for getting rid of Barrett. Sure, but what about next year when we have neither? Because indications are definitely that Z is gonna leave. What do you think he is going to come out and say he won't resign with us right now? That would do wonders for his image. If he really wanted to be here next year, instead of talking about it he would be signing a contract. He said before the season he didn't want to be distracted by contract negotiation. I always wondered if Zambrano's struggles early on were a result of ongoing negotiations, but I kept it to myself.
I was originally hoping to fit the whole thread into the title and just post a picture of Matt Cain. I thought it'd be funnier that way. It didn't work, so I had to improvise. But, every year..especially when it comes down to cy young talk.. you hear about how "this pitcher deserves it more because he has more wins." It's something that really gets under my skin.
Wow...didn't expect that from the A's fans. If they think that highly of a guy who's numbers look ridiculously bad, perhaps there is something we're missing. I'm not going to completely change my opinion on the matter...at best this is a mediocre trade in my opinion, but those comments from the A's fans certainly sound good to me.
people use win/loss record to determine a pitcher's worth. http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_430912.jpg 3-10 with a 3.53 ERA. Ouch.
Yeah, that's how I feel. I almost completely stopped watching last year out of disgust with how Baker handled the team, and the team's actual performance. I still checked the score, but it was the first time in my life that I was so disgusted with the team that I quit watching. It's nice to be interested again, it even has me posting here somewhat regularly, which is something I haven't done since late in the 04 season.
