  1. Wanna know why this post doesn't have many responses? Because everybody is too busy praying that nobody remembers them begging for Hendry to be fired for not signing Percival (among others who flopped after signing ridiculously large contracts.
  2. The opening series is a 2-gamer with a day in between. Zambrano - Prior Cincy really can't be looking forward to that.
  3. I'm not excited about it at all. I couldn't be happier that Aramis isn't playing. Now if only Zambrano would back out.
  4. This annoys me so much. Back in 2002/2003, everyone of the message board people who heard Steve Stone say the word "mechanics" and suddenly declared themselves pitching motion experts thought that Prior had mechanics not even Jesus himself could compete with. a few years later, he has run into a toy second baseman, strained a hammy running out a ground ball, gotten hit in the elbow by a line drive, and had achilles trouble and suddenly his wind-up is flawed beyond repair and he is destined for a future of arm troubles.
  5. I would have rather had his 1 year deal than Rusch's 2 year deal. Not me.
  6. I fail to see how that guy is worh 8.5 million dollars. I wouldn't give him half of that.
  7. It is out. MVP 2006: The Road to Omaha bah everyone knows baseball with aluminum bats is not real baseball. Someone bought the exclusive rights to make MLB games didnt they? I couldnt remember who. I was hoping it was EA they always do a great job with the MVP games. EA bought exclusive rights to the NFL, a sport that they have dominated in sales for the past 14 centuries. Smart move by them. 3DO, or whoever it is that makes the crappy MLB games but pretty good NFL games then retaliated by buying exclusive rights to MLB. So, basically, us gamers lost big time.
  8. I was under the impression that any home game broadcast on WGN was in HD. I don't know what Comcast's policy is. You just totally stole my thunder.
  9. I'm pretty sure they were doing all home WGN games in HD last year for the Chicago area.
  10. I had heard about it a couple times, yes. What I haven't heard of, though, is what in the world Cabrera has done that makes him a jerk. I thought he was fairly likeable?
  11. welcome to the forum? have fun being banned loser
  12. but I highly doubt that they want their streak of not going to arbitration that they brag about so much to end with a guy like Will Ohman. I'm not sure why they are hung up on such a small dollar difference. If they want, I can chip in 20 or so bucks and that should get it done. I didn't really like Ohman that much last year anyways. I know his stats were pretty good, but I just got that feeling of impending doom everytime I saw him warming up in the pen.
  13. Thats still soooo depressing to me. Holy crap. If you dig around in there you can find Kerry's homer in game 7. When that happened, it was the best moment of my life....
  14. bleh, both of the alternate unis suck. I will never understand why some teams have black uniforms. It almost always looks horrible. But the regular home and away look very, very nice. I like it.
  15. Oh noes! NOT A MILLION DOLLARS! How are we gonna have enough to pay everone else now???
  16. I'm not sure what you're referring to here. Are you saying that this is all made up? I cited mlb... because it made mention of WMVP. Bruce Miles also had something to say about it... http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/cubs.asp Oh, WMVP is a radio station? all I saw was http://www.mlbtraderumors.com as your source, I've learned over the past month or so that that site makes most of its stories up. My bad.
  17. I don't think anybody stopped to realize that he used mlbtraderumors.com as his source, and nobody else has heard anything on the radio about it. that site can give you about as much insight into what is happening in the baseball world as I can give you about rocket science.
  18. hahaaha I remember that! That was so awesome.
  19. I was just curious. Besides, I deserve a medal for not posting what I wanted to post to that guy. I'll delete it, or edit it, if you would prefer.
  20. um... am I allowed to say Jackass on these forums? Cuz you're a jackass, dude.
  21. Let me ask the question this way: What 4th or 5th OF's are out there that would be better than Corey at this point? Why be so dead set on trading him? Because the fans are going to boo him? Who cares? Why let that determine the direction of the team? Occasionally, you have to do whats best for the player's career. This is one of those times. Corey has to be traded.
  22. Not true, Don Baylor went on record and had some pretty revealing comments about CPatt's attitude problem and the probability that CPatt would never reach his potential. So to put the blame squarely on Baker is wrong. Can you provide a link or something? I believe Baylor mentioned something about Patterson not being able to reach his potential, but I have never once even remotely heard anyone say anything bad about Patterson's attitude or work ethic. Corey was praised for coming back from his knee injury so fast. Stone, Caray, Kasper, Brenly, Baker and Hendry have all said that Corey works hard to get the extra time with coaches, but it doesn't translate on the field. The only people who have said he has an attitude problem are people who say he looks emotionless when striking out. I believe Baylor compared him to another Cub prospect who had all the promise in the world but fell flat on his face. I forget which one though, because there are so many of them. Also, saying that Baker showed up and thats why Corey struggled is probably one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen on here. Corey's breakout season... the one that made us think he was ACTUALLY going to live up to all his potential.. was 2003. Want to take a guess at who managed that team? Maybe it was Corey's insanely impressive .221/.266 and .253/.284 seasons under Baylor that made you say that. Not liking Baker is fine. Using some of the many, many things that he has screwed up in Chicago against him is fine. Making up crap like that is ridiculous.
  23. Will I be stoned if I say Eric Karros?
