  1. Yeah, but that's the part of the equation we had right already. I think Pierre scores 100 with Lee and ARam 3&4, but I'm not sure its enough to make the offense great. As usual, this year depends on Wood and Prior. If Zambrano is the best starter, the season will not be a success. Um... Zambrano is probably the best pitcher even if they are all 3 healthy and pitching the best baseball of their lives. EDIT: I take that back. I thought about it and decided that, in game 7 of the World Series, I definitely want Prior on the mound over Z.
  2. I think I just threw up a little in my mouth..
  3. I think if Murton is anywhere near on pace for those numbers by mid-season, and he isn't playing every day than Dusty should be round-house kicked by Waker Texas Ranger.
  4. Anybody still mad we didn't sign him?
  5. if they get called J-pie and M-murt, I will cut my nipples clean off.
  6. I was at a Cubs at Pirates game once, and the pirates fans sitting next to me would always scream "Ranger Rob Makowiac!" Then he made an error that let a run score and all the Cubs fans screamed it. I will forever remember him because of that. That being said, I thought he sucked? maybe I was mistaken though.
  7. I guess this goes as a warning to all of St. Louis's pitchers. "Don't demand a trade, or we'll trade you to Colorado!"
  8. Also, I wholeheartedly agree with this trade. I've always liked Pierre, except for when I heard him do that stupid wrap about beating the Cubs. He stinks at rhyming. Also, I had a dream during the 2003 regular season that the Cubs in leading in the 9th inning of the 7th game of the World Series, and Pierre was in Center. (and he is the only player I actually remember seeing on the field. If this ever actually happens, I will have no bones about saying that "I called it." Unfortunately, I did not see the final out recorded. So its safe to assume that Pierre dropped the final out, and whoever we were playing came back and beat us. That would be true Cubby tradition.
  9. hahaha, holy crap that looks like a Dave Chapelle skit.
  10. Somewhere inside this post lies the funniest thing I have ever seen on NSBB. However, I will not bold it since I'm pretty sure you aren't allowed to say it.
  11. Just for that... Z + Boras + FA = Freaky Big Contract To The Yankees  Z loves hitting too much to go to the Yankees. ....It'll be the Mets.
  12. Where does Hendry throw away all that money if he gets Wilkerson and Bradley? You know he has to spend it or people will riot. Kevin Millwood. I'm pretty sure last year the Cubs were among a list of teams mentioned that Kevin Millwood would never play for. Something about him not liking the uniforms. Sorry if its already been discussed, I stopped reading
  13. Yea but at what price? Lugo isn't worth THAT much
  14. Nixon is Plan Z Surely we can do better than him. I can so see Carry Muskat using that as a headline during one of Zambrano's starts in, like, July: Cubs turn to plan Z to keep slim playoff hopes alive
  15. Unless Pujols turns out to be a 32 year old steroid abuser who starts to break down after next season, the deal was great for the Cards.
  16. right, lets trade our best player so that we can sign some of our other players. Nevermind the fact that we would totally suck without Derrek and the other players that we are trying to save money to keep wouldn't want to be here when we finish in last place. Nevermind that little fact. My god, why is it that every time somebody has success somebody wants to trade him so that we can get "max value" out of him. Thats stupid.
  17. Why don't we wait and see what the Twins gave up before we start ripping Hendry again. You know it is possible that Minnesota could put together a better package than us. Why don't you stop reading things in my post that I didn't write? Where did I rip or even mention Hendry's name? riiiiiight. You weren't ripping Hendry at all.
  18. MacPhail was just on XM's mlb station. I only caught the last part about Nomar and Furcal, nothing interesting. In fact i'm not even sure why I'm posting this.
  19. hahaha Despite the fact that I am laughing at your multiple posts.. I pulled off the rare triple post earlier because of the same problem. I guess it'll help me get my post count up, since I've been here since 2003 and have all of about 300 posts.
  20. The Mets will probably offer 10 years 200 million
  21. "The problem with Corey last year, no matter where we put him he was the guy who came up with the bases loaded and a guy on third base!" He would come up with the bases loaded AND a guy on third base??? Wow, what an unlucky guy

  23. Not sure if I have posted here before, but I was originally an Indians fan as they are the hometown team. Also, I was young at the time and really didn't get into baseball until the 94 (great year to get involved) to 95 season, when the indians went to the WS. Then we got sattelite and I started watching the Cubs from time to time on WGN, just when I was bored. Thats when I discovered how great NL baseball was, and my deep hatred of American League "baseball" began. Ever since, I have been a Cubs fan.
  24. well aparently MLB.com has it set up so that everybody can hear it but me, so go to the link I provided above.
  25. Sosa-McGriff-Alou!! sorry... sorry. I'm sorry. No really... I'm sorry.[/b]
