  1. An A-rod trade would most likely involve Mark Prior and/or Ronny Cedeno, would it not?
  2. Those parachutes aren't meant to help you survive flying into a stationary object. Nice smart alec answer, however had he killed the engine and pulled the parachute, he would not have hit the stationary object... He must have just not had enough time for it.
  3. So, it was a mechanical issue with the plane? Cirruses have parachutes on board that literally bring the entire plane down gently in case of something like this......any word on why that wasn't used? This is very sad. RIP Cory :(
  4. Wow, I remember that game like yesterday. On a side note, Santo's call is humorous.
  5. In all honesty, they will give him one more shot at it. If he screws up again this off season, he'll probably be gone, and I'm assuming he knows that. Does that mean he'll do better this off-season? Probably not.
  6. This is the worst thread ever.
  7. Guys, you're being stupid. When a closer who is used to regular work does not get regular work they tend to struggle. When Dempster gets regular work, such as last season and the beginning of this season, he is lights out. There are alot of things that need to be fixed this offseason, Dempster at closer is not one of them.
  8. #2 was either the day before or they day that he got sent to pittsburgh.
  9. How many innings would he have thrown? I'm guessing 16. "yea his arm was tightening up there in the 14th, dude, but he said he could go some more so we put him out there, dude."
  10. I don't feel like making a new topic about it, but can anybody tell me why, with a big lead, Hill was extended through 8 innings? I wasn't watching the game because I don't get the channel, did he keep a low pitch count?
  11. ugh like, he's good at defense and stuff. But......... I don't care about that because he's so terrible at offense :(
  12. That was a good attempt, but I think it took the only shattered batting helmet I can recall in recent history to really start the downward spiral. Yah, Sammy was never the same after Saloman Tores (SP???) gave him that shot to the head.... I hate that man... Yep, Sammy was actually hitting in the .330's in 2003, I think, When Tores decided that Sammy's helmet would look better in 30 pieces.
  13. If Hendry had done the smart thing and canned Dusty a long time ago, it wouldn't be such a distraction now.
  14. Question: With 102 pitches thrown, a win already secured, and after already complaining of his arm being tired... why is Zambrano still pitching? Answer: ...dunno.
  15. Seriously, even in 2002 when the Cubs were aweful, it wasn't this bad. The only word I can use to describe this teams is abysmal. Not even Lee can stop us from losing 100 this year. Hopefully we get a manager this off season. If Hendry re-signs Baker, hopefully Andy jumps in and cans both of them. Hopefully we get a pitching staff that isn't made of glass. Hopefully we fire the whole freaking coaching staff. Have you noticed how Murton has been swinging at everything lately? I wonder why that is! I really have to feel bad for Carlos Zambrano, Derrek Lee, Todd Walker, Ronnie Cedeno, J. Jones (as hard as I was on him earlier), and Michael Barrett. Those are the only guys on this terrible team who are even trying any more. You can tell when you watch these losers attempt to play that they don't want to be there. If I was one of those guys, I would be counting the days until my contract expires so I could get the heck out of Chicago. And the sad part is, we're doing nothing. No mix-ups. Nothing. The manager that is trotting a .200 hitting 1 time GG short-stop (who isn't even doing that good on defense anymore) out there as much as he can, the manager who is unable to provide any motivation for these bums to bust some ass, is being backed up by the General Manager. Seriously, I like Nevin. Really, I do. He doesn't fit in to next years plans. Matt Murton does. WHY then is Nevin getting playing time? So that he can help us win games? Yea, he's doing a great job of that! Get Murton out there so he can get at-bats. Also, stop taking away his patience. That was the only thing that seperated him from the rest of the "can't miss" prospects we've had who have done nothing but suck, half a season spent with our coaching staff and its nearly gone. Pathetic.
  16. My guess is Carlos Zambrano.
  17. Can't decide which I like better. Help me decide!
  18. Seriously, I appreciate that he had a good season in 2004 and a good first half in 2005. Theres only 2 problems: 1. Its not 2004 or the first half of 2005! 2. Glendon was clearly getting fat at the end of 2005, about the time that his performance went down. He shouldn't have been given a contract just based on that. He then got a 2 year deal. He showed up to spring training even more fat. He shouldn't be a starter... or even on the roster.. based on THAT. He clearly does not work hard, otherwise he wouldn't look like the pillsbury doughboy (only uglier). When are we going to stop running him out to get slaughtered?
  19. Haha, yea, I hope he gets to use it on the road next year, too.
  20. Your grandpa would smoke Barry in a race
  21. My frustration had reached it's limit. My original E-mail: That was during the Michael Barrett grand slam game. about 5 minutes ago I got a response. Maybe they are being truthfull and will actually tell their producers that Cubs fans are getting fed up with their crap, but I doubt it.
  22. He ruined it with the random bartman and stupid whitesox jokes. EDIT: Also the bad music
  23. How is it mind-blowing? He saved us last year, dude.
  24. Dude Big Z, for the first time ever I actually looked at what the picture in your sig says. Then I laughed histerically for about 5 minutes. Good job.
