I hate Missouri. I'd expect nothing less. And I hate Ron Prince with a burning passion for using his timeouts. I just now am getting feeling back in my fingers. Did you stay the whole game? I left once Coleman fumbled, I stuck it out as long as I could. Yes, I figured if I stayed that long I might as well see it through. On a humorous note, Marcus Woods has one carry that he has fumbled away to the defense in each of the last two games. Those have been his only two carries.

I wonder how many of those were line drive outs? He may have hit the ball ok but didn't have anything to show for it. Good call. As a Dodger, Lugo had a 22% LD% and only a .274 BABIP. That's astonishingly unlucky. -

Because they got killed at home against the other good team they faced. LSU has played multiple teams of that caliber, lost them both by close margins. Florida has beaten multiple teams of that caliber. Auburn beat two teams of that caliber.

There isn't a need for deception on a sac bunt. The whole ballpark can know its coming, if you get the bunt down it doesn't make any difference. If you know it's coming, then the success rate goes down. Based on what? If a player gets the bunt down anywhere towards the third base line there isn't a thing they can do about it. Because Rolen and Pujols will be closer and more likely to make a play on it. Of course if he does it right there's nothing they can do about it, same way if Floyd hit that curveball over the wall there isn't anything they can do about it. If the defense knows you're bunting, it cuts into the margin for error the bunter has.

Aren't the Cards playing without 2 of their best pitchers? I say that even though I would rather have Wainwright than Izzy. Who are the 2, Mulder and Isringhausen? Both of them were bad this year, nowhere near the loss of Pedro and El Duque. -
How does having Glavine bunt "hugely" increase the chance for an out at third? I think he's saying because they would be playing up for the bunt for Glavine. There were other people on the Mets bench who could bunt who the Cardinals would have to at least partially respect their hitting, though. I think sending up anyone other than Floyd telegraphs the bunt. If you send up a RH hitter you're bunting, and the only other LH bat was Hernandez, who had 1 AB in 10 games, he'd be bunting too.

Poor sportswriting isn't just a Chicago thing. I think he was referring to the similar reputation that Aramis had among some fans and media members while in Pittsburgh, but I could be wrong. Yeah, and I'm saying it's a very real possibility they are as wrong as the Chicago media is. -

You have to look for abnormalities. The calf thing has been known about Prior going back to college. Do they have testing there? Didn't he pitch for Team USA during that timeframe too? -
Guess who was head of player development and scouting right before Hendry took over as GM? He's a delegator. It's the guys on the ground that aren't doing their jobs. And as the person responsible for that department, Hendry deserves and receives the blame for its failures. Yes, I realize that's how we think about things in America. Unfortunately, that mentality doesn't fix the problem many times. It takes time to identify problems in the lower reaches of the organization. Simply replacing the heads of departments just ensures that doesn't get fixed. Blaming Hendry for a problem that wasn't of his making and he hadn't had time to fix (or maybe even identify) is silly. It doesn't matter who's to blame. What matters is that the problem is fixed. I'm sorry, maybe I assumed something you didn't know. Hendry was the one that was the head of scouting and development before he became GM. It was most certainly his problem.
