Our pen(especially since we've already added Marmol which makes Guzman redundant) and Guzman are better than you're giving them credit for. Case in point... Debating the meaning of "dominate" isn't worth it, but Guzman certainly has very good stuff(best of any of our 5 starter options), and it's definitely good enough to have a career as a good major league starter. If Guzman couldn't go 100 pitches without feeling shoulder pain, then fine. But it's just a matter of him drinking water to stay hydrated. It's not like he's risking his career by staying a starter, a la Wood.

Just telling you how Lou is thinking based on his comments to the media, especially with SNY the other night. You said "I applaud the move". Except it's far from a sure thing that whoever replaces Guzman is going to be anywhere near as effective as he was. Of course he is, Jon Lieber is a good pitcher. On the other hand, Adam Eaton stays in the rotation and continues to get torched. It was and still is a laughably awful move. Except Marshall isn't going to be as good as Guzman(Demspter and Miller would be beyond awful). People are making this way harder than it needs to be, and making some terrible arguments in an effort to defend the move.

Did AJP just give signs to the Cub dugout?

Get out of the way when Barrett is ripping a line drive off your crappy pitching, Aardsma.

No luck with Dotel, he's on the worst team in the league(whose roster can be summed up as "Cardinals and Closers"), and I have Soria anyway so hopefully he keeps the job. Thanks for the feedback.

Cardinals don't play til 6 PM, so we should be good. They typically show the Cubs or Cards over the East Coast games around here.

How is Jones going to be traded? That leaves us with Floyd as the only LH threat. Not going to happen. Darryl Ward says Hi Lee's injury aside, he was referring to the everyday lineup.

For the curious, we ended up agreeing on me sending Tejada, Freel, and Josh Hamilton(another guy I never used since I have Sosa, Teahen and Cuddyer) for Glaus and Victorino. Any suggestions on pitchers I should go after with my free spot? Shields is out there, as is Blanton.

Against LHP? Of course. Against RHP? Uh, no. Winner.

I'm sure you now walking and hitting go hand in hand unless you're a small class of player like Vlad or Ichiro. When Eric was in Memphis he was swinging at everything in sight. Hopefully he is making the connection. Patterson's always been a pretty patient hitter. His career IsoD is right near .070, and it was only slightly under that at WT last year.
  16. Transmogrified Tiger
Dude. It's Jorge Sosa. JORGE SOSA. Sorry, our right to complain about flukishly good starting pitching has been revoked until Marquis and Lilly have ERA's over pi.
  17. Transmogrified Tiger
According to Gameday Theriot scaled the wall to catch that.* Where were Jones and Floyd *May be a slight exaggeration

Of all the people to walk, Damian Easley?

Pretty nifty how TNT was able to recreate the Bulls game from last night and manage to CGI the Nets and Cavs players to make it look like their game 5.

It's pretty obvious that the connotation of "getting runners over" is referring to sacrifice hits/productive outs. And yes, that is not even in the same discussion of importance as getting on base and getting extra base hits.

The whole WWoS complex is great.

Soriano has walked in 5 of his last 6 games.

How can you tell from the concept drawings how well the parks are going to ventilate?

Really, really, stupid. Dusty wouldn't even do that. I'm pretty sure that Dusty did do that. The only thing I can think of is that Lou has Zambrano on his fantasy team, and CG is one of the categories. Must be going up against his son this week.

C'mon Pagan and Soriano, get Fontenot another AB
