  1. Well, another year of letting him have it when he comes to Columbia. Hopefully this has negative implications on their recruitment of Releford, although I don't know why it would.
  2. Because again, even when they are garbage like this year. They get lucky. There is no way their record should be as good as it is. and they just swept the pirates Don't worry, Anthony Reyes is about to break into disaster start territory against the Nationals. And as soon as I say it, they bring Jiminez in to deal with the bases loaded, 2 out situation.
  3. Jones + Floyd = 546 in the past 7 days. To be fair to Cliff, he absolutely mashed a few balls that found gloves near the wall. Jones has just flat out sucked. People have been saying that about Floyd all year. In actuality, he's been a touch lucky on balls in play(19.5 LD%, .320 BABIP)
  4. that would be quite cool Would we have enough to give them in return though? I'd love to have Tex on the team. One would be free agent for another......Zambrano for Tex Teixeira has one more year of arbitration after this year. But yeah, he'd be pretty perfect.
  5. So you don't have a problem with the team being under .500 during his tenure? The bottom line is Hendry has done a terrible job putting together a ballclub. Yes I have a problem with the team being under .500 during Hendry's tenure. I also have a problem with all of the "experts" who post critcizing every move he makes (or doesn't) make. All of the "experts" don't criticize every move he makes. Although when you have one of the highest paid teams in baseball, and have a sub .500 record, obviously more often than not your moves are going to deserve criticism. If he made moves that couldn't be criticized, this team would win 95 games every year. Name the last move Hendry made that wasn't followed by dozens of pages of posts (most of them critical) by all of us "experts." Actually, there are dozens of pages of posts (mostly critical) of the moves that Hendry didn't make. He does deserve criticism for the poor record of this team, but I do get upset by the "damned if he does and damned if he doesn't" attitude on a daily basis. Again, all of us have hindsight and the right to change our minds in our favor. This isn't a difficult concept. Not everyone has the same opinion. Some people may have liked the Soriano and Lilly deals, and hated the Howry, Eyre, and Marquis deals. Others may have liked Howry, Eyre, and Soriano; others still may have liked them all, or hated them all. Don't confuse a quantity of critical posts(on a site that has hundreds of regular posters) with a unified front to tear down every move Hendry makes.
  6. maybe... people would've thought Alex Gordon to 3B and Teahen to RF would be a big upgrade for the Royals' lineup, but Gordon has been awful. It might take Braun a while to adjust too. I don't disagree at all, but Braun doesn't really have to do much to be a significant upgrade. Milwaukee's 3B are hitting .214/.320/.273/.593 this year.
  7. So, at what point do we say that Pie needs MLB exposure to continue to develop? .398/.467/.559/1.026, 13 BB, 14 K in ~110 PA's
  8. Thanks for taking our questions Mark, and congrats on your fantastic start to the year. What do you think is the biggest reason for your aforementioned great start? Do you feel like you have more velocity/movement on your fastball? Sharper break on your offspeed stuff? More spot-on command? Better mental approach? Any or all of the above?
  9. What does BABIP have to do with MVP voting? It determines who wins the MVP. Quick, do you know what BABIP is? PS- It has nothing to do with determining who had the better season and I have no idea why it was used here. Do I need to know what BABIP means? I don't think I need to. Hey, if you don't understand it, then mock it, right?
  10. Were Lee and Ramirez even watching before their at bats? He's throwing a slider that bites out of the zone when you have two strikes you dolts, pay attention.
  11. That's why LeBron passed the other night. And again they have a wide open look for the win and they can't convert.
  12. Hopefully in Cleveland LeBron will be allowed to take a foul shot. McDyess just gave him a high five and they called it a block.
  13. Cool, I've always been a big fan of Howard.

  15. Let's not kid ourselves and paint Myers as some middle of the road starter. He was 15th in the NL in ERA, 16th in WHIP, 14th in BAA, 11th in K/BB, and 4th in K/9. He was a bona fide 2 starter(to use an arbitrary term) at least. Obviously he was better as a reliever, but that's not the point. For comparison's sake, Myers was about as good as Zambrano last year, and is less than a year older than him. If Dempster had blown his elbow out a couple weeks into this season, how many people would've thought it a good, or even sane, move to make Zambrano the closer?
  16. I see a guy trying to profit off his son's death. Probably doing the same things he did when his son was alive, by blaming others for his kids' failings. so the bar shouldn't be held accountable for their negligence? It was well documented at the time that Hancock was offered a cab.
  17. Kouzmanoff had like 3 hits on the season before we came to town, now he's hitting moonshots.
  18. Aramis' grand slam? I think all of the grand slams have come with the bases loaded We have a new Post of the Day.
  19. I don't want him! Then bury him in your backyard or something.
  20. I have to admit I'm surprised, I knew an offspeed pitch on the outer half was coming, but I figured Izturis would roll it over to get the DP. He actually did what he was supposed to and still managed to GIDP. Good stuff Cesar.
  21. Good thing Giles slid or he would've Prior'd Cruz Jr.
  22. How many HRs would Wells have given up by now? He's given up some pretty hard hit balls too. I wasn't trying to say that we should be losing, just that Marshall is giving up a lot of good hacks.
  23. So if this game was played in any other park, how many HR would Marshall have given up by now? I'm thinking 4.
  24. I watched Pagan strike out without actually believing that he took that pitch for strike 3. Maybe he lost count.
