Possibly, but he's been a little unlucky today, because he's gotten victimized by like 5 different perfect pitches painting the edge of zone.

It being an oblique strain is such a huge bummer, because it's not just the recovery time but some time after that where he's likely robbed of power(depending on the severity).

I'd like to see the K rate a little lower too, but for it to go down without sacrificing BB would put him at a 1:1 K/BB, and I don't think he has to be at that level for me to consider him beating expectations. Plus if he's making better swing decisions we'll expect the Ks to marginally increase along with the BBs as a function of more deep counts. But zoom out a small bit and he's putting up cartoon results while demonstrating progress in the 2 big questions people have(swing decisions and IF defense). Maybe AAA is the level where things get harder but it seems very fair to me to be pretty excited as things stand today. -
Castillo has given up 4 ER in every start and his velo is down too, so while I'm not gonna plan on rocking him his reputation probably exceeds the true difficulty of the matchup as it stands today.

I started typing something similar, but on the 2nd replay I think it would've been questionable considering the distance and that he's coming from being face down to the ground.

There wasn't much more said besides there's a car on fire on the freeway next to the stadium and that's why it's gotten hazier in the stadium.

Since he seemed pretty sharp against AAA hitters and the big league team is in town I wonder if they just have him throw a sim game in Mesa to build some endurance and then he takes his next turn in the rotation the following week. Then again, if they think he can throw 4 IP his first outing that's not really a step down from the current options, especially since it could free up a current starter to give depth in the MLB pen if preferred.
