what is Verlander looking at before he starts his motion, is he looking into space trying to hear pitchcom? -
I'm less certain of the floor PCA offers, and I expect that it'll be something like a 'platoon but also not paired with Gomes/Madrigal' sorta thing unless form changes. But Mastrobuoni was an option if they were just looking for an OF-capable body, so I suspect he's here to play more than Counsell's bench roles have so far.

So the argument is they want reinforcements while Bellinger is hurt, so they manufactured the presence of a fracture so they have a more "legitimate" reason to IL him than the actual pain he has? -

Something I didn't think about until just now, I wonder if Brown throwing on Tuesday and only for an inning portends anything about who starts on Saturday/Sunday the next time they need Hendricks' rotation spot. Whether or not Wesneski gets used this series will probably be a big indicator.
