Prior to today, his Z-contact% by week hadn't changed by more than 2% in any given week(thur-wed), so doesn't look like it. -
Abreu coughing up a game to the Cubs before the Astros give up on him and trade him to the Cubs at the deadline would be a great bit
-
oh my glob
-
Tough read considering he was running on the play and the route to the ball makes it an even shorter throw to first.
-
Just like we draw it up
-
3-2 red light imo
-
This was back in the 2nd that I noticed it, pitch clock is a good thought. I thought he was looking close enough to the plate that I'd notice from the CF angle, but maybe not.
-
what is Verlander looking at before he starts his motion, is he looking into space trying to hear pitchcom?
-
I'm less certain of the floor PCA offers, and I expect that it'll be something like a 'platoon but also not paired with Gomes/Madrigal' sorta thing unless form changes. But Mastrobuoni was an option if they were just looking for an OF-capable body, so I suspect he's here to play more than Counsell's bench roles have so far.

The Terrible Umpires Thread
Transmogrified Tiger replied to TruffleShuffle's topic in General Baseball Talk
It's very close but Savant I believe has 3 pitches in the zone, though not the exact 3 that were called -
Not sure how you're trying to access it, but I can pull it up by going to milb.tv in the browser. I know you're in a different country so not sure if that plays a part.

Also our entire starting OF is hurt

I have no idea, I'm being glib mostly. But if they didn't handle the conversion perfectly, I would imagine Altuve would be a prime candidate
-
To silhouette person maybe, but not Altuve
-
wasn't even a strike
-
wow turns out the glove was the reason Little always walked people, how about that
-
This feels like a situation where Little would be in the game if we weren't at the early stages of 16 straight games.
-
I still hold out some hope he can carve out a MLB future of some sort, but increasingly I think that has to come in a second division environment where he can get more runway than he'll have here.

the organist pulling out 'All by Myself' for Singleton is inspired

Bellinger to IL with Rib Fracture, PCA called up
Transmogrified Tiger replied to UMFan83's topic in Chicago Cubs Talk
So the argument is they want reinforcements while Bellinger is hurt, so they manufactured the presence of a fracture so they have a more "legitimate" reason to IL him than the actual pain he has? -
well this has been very dumb
-
Altuve looked like Henry Rowengartner throwing the ball out of the stadium in Little League

Mervis is not an automatic out, and only one of PCA or Canario need to start, potentially zero if you feel like putting Wisdom out there. -
