  1. Did you forget they were offering Lester, Crisp, Flotsam and Jetsam for Santana earlier this winter. He might be the most overrated player in the majors. I'd rather sign Corey over trading something for Crisp they are essentially the same player. and when I mean the same player they are both really 680-730 OPS type CFs with above average D. Corey is a straight lefty but plays better defense and has a much better arm IMO. Crisp has a slightly better bat and patience and is a switch hitter Crisp is significantly better defensively, and may be the best defensive CF in the game. His UZR is up there with Adam Everett. Plus his approach at the plate is much more conducive to him returning to his previous success offensively, unlike Patterson.
  2. I like Crisp better than Lofton. Although Wuertz, Murton, and a pitcher is a comically bad deal. Epstein is not dealing from a position of strength, Crisp has not been very good for two years now and isn't cheap. Crisp should be a buy-low proposition.
  3. It's shortsighted to say that the DH has nothing to do with it. The ability to store impact hitters who may get hurt/rehurt in that spot has allowed many AL teams to be more aggressive in getting FA hitters. Magglio Ordonez is the prime example of this.
  4. Hahahah what a joke squad. So that leaves Carroll Safford M Lawrence Tiller K Lawrence Volkus as the rotation? Oh wow, Anderson Jr. and Berardini are going to get significant minutes aren't they. This is going to be so much of a disaster that now I'm mildly disappointed I won't be able to be there.
  5. What, are they taking him out at halftime? I really do hope that the game is reasonably close though, if for no other reason than heckling that slimeball Martin is a lot of fun.
  6. ahahaha, we're going to lose every game by 20 instead of 8 now. Awesome.
  7. Wow, I didn't realize Crow was THAT highly regarded.
  8. If you can't measure the impact, does it matter?
  9. Wow, a 35 foul shot differential? 24 from Zeno alone? Unreal.
  10. Good news Seth, ESPN360 got rights to Serie A and Coppa Italia.
  11. .067/.094/.067 (30 AB) at Mesa .190/.261/.190 (21 AB) at Boise Of course he did badly last year, he was rushed into play after not playing for 3 months. His 51 AB mean little. How many months not playing will he spend between those at bats and his next? Im not sure what thats got to do with it. We have had so many high school position player flops that Im prepared for this one to turn out the same as the rest. It was only 51 at bats but still those are some aweful numbers for a guy thats as hyped as Vitters has been. Where do you think he will start the year? Think he'll see Daytona at all this year? Id love to get a chance to see him in person. 0 months, he'll have probably 1+ month at Fitch at the very least before Peoria starts their season. You really don't think getting a 3 month layoff would hurt a player? He'll probably start at Boise or Peoria, if he gets to Daytona this year something really good happened. It wasn't just not playing for 3 months, he wasn't really doing much of anything before he signed for fear of hurting himself. Quite reasonable for him to struggle those first 50 PAs.
  12. The Molina threads at GRB are fascinating. For some reason I find the phrase "Best catcher since Matheny" unbelievably hilarious.

  14. I thought that was Packer. Happy to sneak out of CoMo with a win. Gonna have to watch a replay to see what happened. You shot 45 free throws on the road. I didn't get to see the game though. I live in Kansas City and the damn thing wasn't on unless you have ESPNU. Comcast here does not. Yeah, it's not on espn360 either. Anderson is complaining about the fouls, but they called 30 on MU and 22 on KU, and MU was (according to what I've read) fouling at the end of the game, so that's a pretty even split. The FT discrepancy comes from the fact KU got fouled more in the act of shooting. MU took 28 treys, so it sounds like they jump-shot more than drove. Again, I'm not gonna say the reffing was fair or unfair because I didn't see the game. But the stats seem to bear out that Mizzou didn't get jobbed like Mike Anderson is claiming. Mizzou took a lot of jumpers, but they also drove the lane quite a bit. I think the difference was failed shot blocks getting called more than bumps by the body. Also, I'm pretty sure about 8-10 consecutive block/charging calls went against Mizzou in the second half, I've never seen anything like it.
  15. I have never understood why ESPN's gamecast refuses to tell you how many timeouts each team has left.
  16. I think they sorta go hand in hand. That's true, but given the choice I'd much prefer Pie then Soto hitting 7/8, especially against RHP.
  17. I think I'd be more concerned about getting Pie out of the 8 spot than Theriot in the 2 spot.
  18. Mizzou led most of the first half and kept it close throughout, but they couldn't hit a three in the second half, and didn't rebound the whole game, and lost 76-70. Rush was bloody terrible, I think he made one field goal and it was a dunk.
  19. Maybe if you'd never seen Raw post before. It was pretty clear he was kidding.
  20. That's about it. His crappy season in Japan last year doesn't leave much room for optimism though.
  21. Yeah, last year definitely wasn't a sellout, they basically reserved the entirety of the upper deck for students, and there was plenty of room all around the dome in that area.
