  1. Isn't Mr. Wonderful from the Mets leading that vote? Chipper leads Aramis by a million votes, Wright is in 3rd.
  2. We're sending down EPatt because he can't play defense and you want to replace him with Hoffpauir? I've liked Kroeger since we picked him up, but since he's not rostered there's little chance of him being called up.
  3. And the Cardinals pretty much never play stupid baseball. That is the main cause for worry. They suck, we all know that, but we are still the Cubs. Stupid baseball is what we do. I was out of town and didn't see any of the Royals series, but prior to that, the Cardinals had: -Walked in at least 5 runs, including a game-loser to Detroit -Had Ankiel fall down on a routine ball, turning an out into a triple and a run in a game they eventually lost in extras -Had a runner on 3rd get tagged out as part of a 5-3 double play -Threw a ball into right field trying to get a force out they had little chance of getting This is from the last week or two, and from memory, and from a guy who watches maybe 3 innings of the Cardinals per game.
  4. When looking at the pitching matchups, consider that the Giants starters will be facing a Cubs offense that, while hampered by injuries, still contains Lee, Fukudome, Soto, DeRosa, and a streaking Edmonds. The Cubs starters will be facing an offense that is highlighted by Fred Lewis and Aaron Rowand, or in other words, terrible.
  5. I'm just spitballing here, but maybe we should wait until Vitters has played more than 17 professional games to decide that he's so much of a defensive liability that we need to move him somewhere.
  6. Yeah, Rosa's a 3B. Perfect, yet another reason to promote Marquez Smith.
  7. I know it's not the only thing people got mad at him about, but blaming Patterson for allowing whoever that was to tag from first base is ridiculous. He had to go away from first to track the ball, and had either of the middle infielders(especially Fontenot) done their job and told him the runner was tagging, he would've thrown the runner out rather easily without the hesitation and double clutch that came with being surprised at the tagging runner.
  8. Haha, I completely forgot about Safford. Oh well, since there has to be a guard in that spot, he won't be the 5th guy anyway.
  9. That's too bad. Keon was easy to root for, but he had some issues this past year that rattled him, not the least of which was his brother being shot and killed. For Mizzou, that means a newcomer is guaranteed to start next year, with Lyons, Carroll, Matt Lawrence, and Tiller being the only returning players.
  10. I don't live in the Chicago area, so I didn't really have any feelings towards Cory Provis before tonight. But when you report that Samardzija got his first win with a "good outing", then proceed to list every part of his line EXCEPT the fact he walked nearly everyone in the opposing lineup, Ima gonna be pissed off. Ridling could use a promotion. Rosa may only be 20, but he's not hitting for a 1B, and I might be crazy, but didn't he play elsewhere on the infield before?
  11. I don't think you can assume out of hand that Rose's assist totals were suppressed by the Memphis system. With nothing else to go on but High School play(relatively useless), it's just as easy an assumption that Rose isn't a super distributor.
  12. Anyone have any undrafted players they think could have an impact? I mentioned him before, but I really think Josh Duncan could be a nice backup 4.
  13. http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/article/breaking-down-the-draft/
  14. Foster has pretty decent size for a guard, and he can fill it up. He's a strong pick for where the Mavs were at.
  15. Walker and the Wizards are made for each other.
  16. I'm sure they'll all take out their anger by shooting up one of the clubs downtown tonight. He's more of a "bludgeon with the blunt end of a shot gun" sorta guy.
  17. I'm gonna get you a Joey Dorsey jersey. I'll drive to Portland just to see if I can get him to sign it "Horace Dorsey". He looks dense enough that I could pull it off.
  18. I don't think the Columbia YMCA has a draft. They do. He wasn't picked. Forget Horton, Kalen Grimes' draft night party has been ruined. At least they got a discount on their blizzards.
  19. That's a nickname from a kangaroo? What? If he's not going to have a real nickname and just steal other names, I'm gonna call him Horace. Horace Dorsey
