unhitch the trailer, Yadi. If you can't get within 3 steps, when you hit it in the hole to Theriot, you have a problem. And I just saw the worst commercial I've ever seen in my entire life.
The TV guys weren't really complaining, Ankiel looked back at the bleachers with a grin on his face after he caught a fly ball and they pointed out that you hear some creative stuff with Wrigley putting fans so close to the players.
??? How is Chris Duncan a trash player? Plus he has exceptional power. He's hit like 50 home runs in 900 career at bats. You're probably best off not trying to start rational debate about these things in a game thread. That said, Duncan is a career .203/.260/.350/.611 hitter against LHP with just 5 HR before today.
No chance of advancement, but it's good to see a strong throw from Hoffpauir. McLaughlin and Hrabosky doing the equivocation game of trying to make the Cubs sound not as good.
True, but never underestimate Dave Duncan's ability to shine a turd. Duncan couldn't do much with him last year. 34 IP, 7.41 ERA, 13/22 K/BB, 1.88 WHIP, 5 HR, .919 OPS against
From LaRussa: "No matter what happened in the game, the big thing is it looks like he(Carpenter) is going to be out for a while. That kind of overwhelms everything else that happened in that game. ... I'm not happy. This is a [expletive] day. I'm not going to fake it." At GRB I saw a timetable of 5-6 weeks that might be changed to several months, but I'm not sure how accurate that is.
