  1. "Extend" depends on the situation. Lester was cruising pretty well, the only threatening hitter due up is LH, and Lester going another inning keeps bullpen arms from getting used too much. Sure you can always use the bottom of the pen guys, especially in September, but in a 0-0 game you're still playing to win, that's what all the players sign up for. I'm probably being overly cautious, but I am more focused on October. So if a guy is at 100 and it's tied in August, oh well if we lose. I say we at least try to increase our playoff chances by 0.5 percent by using the advantage of a big lead to rest regulars and not push anyone past 100. I'm with you in this case, but if they had sent him out for the 7th I wouldn't have been furious. Especially since they would've likely pulled him at the first sign of trouble.
  2. Grimm's last 2 months: 17 IP, 9 H, 1 ER, 24/4 K/BB, 1 HR
  3. He's due up 3rd, so if there's anyone on base it's an easy no. Maybe even if it's 2 out and none on too. I guess my only question is why would we extend any of our pitchers past 100 at this point of the year? Not saying they won't, but why? "Extend" depends on the situation. 5. This is your reminder that the Dodgers started Hernandez, Culberson and Segedin in a game during a pennant chase, plus Reddick against a LHP. Their payroll is over 270 million.
  6. This is his primary job. Stories are fine, but long and rambling tales to nowhere are just bad. Scully has a classic voice but in this millennium he's been way past his prime, he would've been better off confined to radio or given a partner.
  7. United), John Brooks (Hertha Berlin), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Omar Gonzalez (Pachuca), Fabian Johnson (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Michael Orozco (Club Tijuana), DeAndre Yedlin (Newcastle United) Midfielders (9): Paul Arriola (Club Tijuana), Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Alejandro Bedoya (Philadelphia Union), Michael Bradley (Toronto FC), Jermaine Jones (Colorado Rapids), Darlington Nagbe (Portland Timbers), Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund), Caleb Stanko (FC Vaduz), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City) Forwards (5): Jozy Altidore (Toronto FC), Jordan Morris (Seattle Sounders), Rubio Rubin (FC Utrecht), Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes), Bobby Wood (Hamburger SV)
  8. That article was only posted 3 weeks ago? I feel like I read it in May.
  9. Pedro Baez is going to be in the owners' argument for why you can't treat minor leaguers as hourly employees
  10. He's on the Iowa DL with a thumb injury. Not sure of his prognosis.
  11. [Rogers asks dumb question about normally wanting to move over a runner on 1st in the 10th] "Joe and I are on the same page, Rizz and I want doubles or better in that situation" <3
  12. it is late, can you be sure it's not a recording I live in Korea. Its 2:30 in the afternoon here. I meant for Vin

  14. Bryant now leads MLB in fWAR: http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=y&type=8&season=2016&month=33&season1=2016&ind=0&team=&rost=&age=0&filter=&players=
  15. please score so I don't get an aneurysm when Wood goes out to pitch the bottom of the 10th I don't even care if they win the game I just hate seeing this approach to road extra innings managing so much
  16. JOE IF YOU GIVE UP A RUN YOU LOSE THE HEART OF THEIR ORDER AND 2 LEFT HANDERS ARE UP CHAPMAN WAS WARMING JOE WHY IS TRAVIS PITCHING
  17. They mistakenly set the sound level assuming a full stadium would absorb some of the noise
  18. With no Puig do they really have any better options? I suppose not, it just repeatedly shocks me how untalented the Dodgers are for being a 500 million dollar payroll team.
  19. Are the Dodgers really throwing 4 lefties against a LHSP, including Utley and Reddick? Really too bad the Nats only have Gio Gonzalez.
  20. Bryant beat it out either way, but Gonzalez fielded that throw like a little leaguer
  21. I will eat the hat that SSR already ate all those years ago if Bob Feller or Nolan Ryan actually threw a ball 107+ mph
  22. On the first pitch Wainwright threw, no less. At 2:03 since embeds don't respect URL timestamps.
  23. Deuce has a heart arrhythmia, he's out through the qualifiers.
