It ended up not mattering, but that's why Contreras entered the game. Without the double switch, Montgomery is hitting with the bases loaded and 2 out.

Matheny doesn't really have much in the way of alternatives, but Oh did pitch last night too. Pushing him past 30 pitches here seems like tempting fate.

I think Chapman talked his way out of a 2nd inning, so Contreras is coming on to move Montgomery as low as possible in the order. Yeah I thought about that but we're talking about 1 spot in the order Could make a big difference this coming inning though, especially with Montgomery being the last pitcher you don't want to lose a rally because the pitcher was due up 6th instead of 7th.
