  1. When did anyone say that Pierre will never return to his career numbers? I've heard several people say 'what if?', but not with the authority that people talk about Lee's career year.
  2. It looks to me like Bradley's been good to outstanding producing at CF for the last 3 years.
  3. Curious to knwo what his Road/Home splits are. Since coming to Florida his AVG has been 20 or more points worse away from Pro Player, and his OBP and SLG have followed. Do you have his stats at Wrigley? .282/.354/.366/.721 76 PA's

  5. It's not about keeping the prospects, it's about getting appropriate value. If you're willing to give up those two, then do it for Wilkerson or Bradley, who are both superior to Pierre. That way we add a player that can get on base AND hit more than singles, so it improves the offense more.
  6. Woohoo, MSU takes down #6 BC in Madison Square Garden. It's so great to have Trannon back.
  7. What players are you speaking of, on the trade block, that'll bite at an offer of Nolasco/Pinto? Wilkerson and Bradley. Walker career leadoff: .291/.349/.443/.792 Pierre career leadoff: 304/.354/.375/.729 Walker's better, it's pretty clear. How many AB's does Walker have in the leadoff spot, and were they all done in Boston? I only ask, because Pierre has been putting up those numbers for awhile now, not to mention he had an off year in 05. Walker has 1271 PA's at the leadoff spot. I don't know the team breakdown, but he had several hundred as a Cub in '04.
  8. But you never know with the LA system. I'd do Zito for Bradley, Billingsley and LaRoche so fast your head would spin. Heck, I'd do Zito for Bradley, Billingsley/LaRoche. IIRC, the rumor was Bradley, Joel Guzman, and Edwin Jackson. Could've been garbage from the getgo though.
  9. Ideally we'd be able to put that in every spot, but considering that we aren't low on players that can slug(Lee, ARam, Barrett), I'll take more slugging from the guy on our team that will get the most PA's.

  11. If Pierre returns to a .360 OBP next year and steals at a 75 percent success rate -- is that acceptable? I'm not saying he will ... just wondering what you'd think about those numbers. No, because there's several better options still out there that very likely cost significantly less than what it will apparently cost to get Pierre. But the thing is, we don't know that. What we do know (or at least what has been widely reported) is that Hendry has had discussions with teams for Bradley, Wilkerson and Lugo. If we're going to believe Nolasco and Pinto were offered for Pierre, then we have to assume that Patterson plus might be able to get you Bradley or Wilkerson.
  12. TODD WALKER HAS MORE AT BATS AT THE LEADOFF SPOT IN HIS CAREER THAN ANY OTHER SPOT. HE IS NOT UNFAMILIAR WITH THAT ROLE. Sorry for the caps, but this has popped up several times, and it's completely false.

  14. They're both top 10 in the system coming off of good to great years in AA at age 22. Pinto has more heat than Nolasco, but Nolasco has better control. Both have pretty good, but not dynamite stuff.
  15. There was a Bradley plus two top prospects for Zito, but I don't think it has much behind it.
  16. I say have a thread for all the pre-Christmas or pre-Dec. 30 bowls, then go from there.
  17. Chase Coffman got shafted.
  18. Whew, I was going to be like "You are definitely pulling our leg on that one Outshined."
  19. He's supposed to get on base, then get past first on his own. That's the job of every hitter, whether they hit first or eighth. Pierre does the former pretty well(not last season), and has never done the latter well. It hurts his value because he can't provide as much at the offensive end. Throw in his poor defense and less than stellar baserunning capabilities, and he's just not worth it to me.
  20. Do we want to match Marte for Lugo? OK, I get it: you do not want Lugo or Pierre. Of the one's realistically left, who do you want? I want Lugo, but Marte is a better prospect than Pie. It's not worth it for what we want him for.
  21. That's probably news Cubs fans do not want to see but it makes the most sense for the Reds, especially considering they don't have to trade within the division. Isn't Dave Williams the LHP for the Pirates?
  22. I'm changing it up, going with the B's C Barrett 1B Berkman 2B Belliard 3B Blalock SS Betemit LF Bonds CF Beltran RF Bay Bench Buck Bradley Beltre Baldelli Bellhorn Burrell(DH) Rotation Buehrle Beckett Bedard Blanton Byrd Bullpen Bonderman Benson Balfour Betancourt Brazelton Burnett(Closer)
  23. I'm with Fiver. Bruce made the decision to come here and share on occasion, I'm sure if he has any relevant info he wants to share, he will without solicitation.
