  1. If the Iowa fans didn't storm the court, they'd be disrespecting the Illini program. ;) Right, you know Illinois has lost like 1 home game the last decade, yet we weren't even mentioned the entire day when they talked about hardest places to play at. But, that's ok just keep acting like our program doesn;t exist and get all fired up when we lose espn. plus doug "credit card" gottlieb tried to compare ther 4 guard system at villanove to our 4 guard system. saying theres were better. First off we only had 3 guards last year, secondly name me one of there guys who will be the third pick in the draft. Did you see the places they listed for toughest places? It was where those analysts had been. Tom Brennan's from a lower conference in the northeast, and Gottlieb played in the Big 12. You didn't see Duke or most of the toughest places to play on those lists. Sheesh.
  2. That ball was tipped at the line of scrimmage, hard to blame Simms for that.
  3. Unfortunate that they can't review the end of that interception, looked like Arrington fumbled.
  4. Majerus is my favorite announcer, he actually offers something beyond platitudes. He may have favored Iowa somewhat, but that's what the tide of the game was. Also, it's not hatred of Illinois for ESPN and the media to get excited when they are losing. They've won what, 54 of 55? It's big news when they might get knocked off, just like all the close calls USC had this year that the media jumped all over while in progress.
  5. Per ESPN. 2005 Salary: $3,500,000 Toronto is picking up some of the salary. I think right around half of it. He's slated to make 6.25 this year and 6.75 next year with a 6.5 team option(with 500k buyout) for '08.
  6. You and your math.... Still better than B's 1.25, which was who I was deciding between.
  7. ADF A and F are locks, D's sub 1 WHIP seals it over the rest.
  8. Might have something to do with Signing Bonuses as well.
  9. Not really. Nothing too impressive, anyway. 279/328/401/729 For a SS in a pitcher's league at his age, that's pretty good.
  10. PM one of the admins, 1908 will probably be able to do it faster according to Tim.
  11. Why isn't Fontenot on the list?
  12. Did the Cubs organization really treat Corey that poorly? I don't think they did... Yeah, the only thing Corey can really claim mistreatment from is the fans.
  13. 40 of 90? wouldn't that be 44% and 41 of 76 be 54%? I'm not the biggest math guy in the world but even at first glance 30 of 90 would be 1/3 or 33%. His percentages are right if you think of those numbers as 40/130, 41/117, and 34/164. Confusing language to be sure. Why would I think of them that way? I read the article and didn't see 40/130 etc antwhere. Don't think of it as 40 out of 90, think 40 successes and 90 failures. I don't know which numbers are right, but that's how he came to those percentages
  14. So the Phillies would have 2 SS's? I wonder if the Cubs would get involved with the Phillies if the Phils don't move thier SS to the O's. According to the rumor, the Phillies would move Tejada to thirdbase. That would be pretty dumb. You could trade for Koskie for much less and platooning him with Bell would give you similar if not better production than Tejada.
  15. Thebaseballcube, the Orioles, and ESPN list Val's bday as March 1981, and Pie's as Feb 1985, but they say Val was 20 in 2004. I'd need some clarification. On a strictly numbers basis he does compare favorably to Pie, but what were his true ages in those seasons? And, Pie has nearly 1500 pro at bats, while Val has less than 1000, and apparently didn't play at all in 2005 while recovering from a torn labrum. I'm not sure he's a fair comparison to Pie when all is said and done. And no, I wouldn't trade Pie for Patterson. ESPN.com and the O's website both list that '81 birthday for Majewski.
  16. Do we assume Patterson is in this proposed deal, since he's rumored there anyways? I'd really like to know what package the Orioles want Pie added to.
  17. Raisin = bad at instigating
  18. Two Hamiltons then. And then UCLA had to ruin the rest of the evening by beating Arizona.
  19. Everytime I flipped over from the USC-ASU game, dude was travelling. yea, I meant to call you and tell you to stop flipping over . . . CPatt gave me $5 to do my best to help the Spartans win. If I had known you'd be that effective I would've given you $15 to force you to watch the whole thing.
  20. Depends on the prospect. Someone like Pie? Everyday at AAA. Someone like Theriot or Fontenot? That's what his ceiling is at the major league level anyway, so if you have a need don't hesitate to plug him in to the bench.
  21. His athletic ability on the high pick and roll was huge in disrupting the MSU offense. Davis and Trannon seemed to have their way underneath, and Augustine didn't do much at all offensively, but his presence was huge. [bitterness]That said I still can't stand in Augustine, and hate how many moving screens that U of I gets away with.[/bitterness]
  22. It's still winter break, that's why Assembly wasn't as loud IMO. Musberger is a human wasteland.
  23. STOP FOULING DOWN SEVEN WITH 35 SECS LEFT PLZ
