Because he lost control of the ball before his elbow hit the ground (meaning the ground didn't jar it loose), that suggests he didn't have control of it. He already had two feet and at least one knee down by that point! That was an abomination of officiating. Right, but if the ground didn't cause him to lose control of the ball, how can you be sure he had control of the ball and overturn it? Because he doesn't start to lose control until after he has two feet down(TD) and at least one knee down(TD). There's no indication he doesn't have control until that point, and I just saw the replay which is exactly what the official is looking at.
