  1. Would it be mean to bunt it to 3B at this point?
  2. Live stats - he's 20th in MLB in wRC+ at 141 for players with over 200 PA
  3. He broke his hamate (iirc) bone while playing at Iowa. He never really had the same kind of power after that.
  4. Yep. Add him and Ohtani. I'd be fine trading for Alonso, but would want to exclude the top 5-6 guys from the deal. He's a 1B, only under control for one year, etc. I waffle a lot on extending Bellinger. The back end of that contract is likely to look ugly. I was firmly against extending him because his batted ball data looks so meh, but I've softened on that. I guess it depends on how much confidence there is in PCA having immediate impact. Having Bellinger in there most certainly makes the '24 and '25 teams look a lot better, though.
  5. More confirmation about the IFA space: https://www.marqueesportsnetwork.com/cubs-kick-off-trade-deadline-day-with-a-minor-move-per-reports/
  6. aw hell I hope it isn't bad.
  7. An actual major league reliever would have been nice. Bednar would have been great for this and for future years, but I have to believe Pitt's asking price for him was sky high.
  8. Thanks for the clarification!
  9. If we're receiving the international cash, that makes me feel much better about the deal. I'm not sure if it would be for only this year or if it could be for next year. As for remaining targets, there was a very recent report of a Korean (iirc) high schooler skipping their draft to become eligible for MLB.
  10. Given the context of everything else that didn't happen...can someone explain the logic of that dumb ass Rays trade again? I don't think we're within $600k of the cap.
  11. I think they should do a 1-1 swap of Grayson for Stroman.
  12. He hasn't been playing for a while since the "lower body injury", though, right? So...get him healthy and then up to AA.
  13. Now get him off the DL and up to AA
  14. So can we start complaining about PTR (Poor Tom Ricketts for those unacquainted with the acronym) again?
  15. Just looking at the numbers for Roberson...I hate this trade. We've got a ton of IFA money in the next window tied up in the top player. Manny has shown signs at times and has flashed recently. Roberson is 27, can't find the strike zone consistently, has lousy results, and can't seem to stay healthy. It's obviously a pure scouting play, but what are the odds we're seeing something that the Rays aren't?
  16. Given that the trade is for a 1B/DH, it may work.
  17. I'm missing what others see in the Yankees system. I was looking for possible trade candidates when Bellinger to the Yanks was a topic. I didn't see a whole lot that excited me there.
  18. You ranked him 10th in the system last month. Behind such luminaries as Ethan Hearn.
  19. I have lost faith, but I have not yet lost hope. So I still believe there's a chance that he gets healthy and maintains his improved contact from this year while also rediscovering his power from previous years. But he's way down my list of prospects right now because the risk has become so high.
  20. Now I'm hoping for an MS paint drawing of the 9th inning
