  1. He's got a very strong defensive reputation. He's regularly mentioned as one of the best defenders in the system. (I'm at least 90% confident I'm not confusing him with anyone else!)
  2. lol - thank you! I totally forgot Caray was doing games for them now. I'm pretty sure he screwed up that call. He had to mean to say that the Cards have found so many ways to *lose* this year.
  3. I desperately want the Cards broadcast of that.
  4. stupid umpire with the horrible call on the first pitch of Dansby's ab. He's more likely to take the tough pitch when he's ahead in the count instead of 0-1. Where the hell are my robo-umps?
  5. I've seen all I have to. Morel is outstanding at 3B now.
  6. Not what I said. I said it being small makes it a good place to put a lesser defender. There's a decent probability in each game that the quirkiness doesn't come into play. Balance that against the small territory to cover and it's probably about a wash. Also, it's not like LF in Wrigley has no quirks.
  7. Happ very well could have had a nagging injury that needed a break, too. TT's point is that the manager has access to a lot of information that we don't. Without that info, the decisions can look bad from the outside. Also, while LF in Houston is funky, it's small. There's a fair probability that none of the quirks come into play and it's a good place to put a bad fielder. Plus it isn't like Morel hasn't played the OF at all.
  8. If we end up selling, my dream trade is Stroman to TBR for Caminero. However, Caminero's probably played his way out of any chance of being available.
  9. The picture going into next year really isn't that bad. We have a solid core in place. We just need to keep adding a few more pieces. If the Cubs do decide to trade off at this deadline, I wonder how anxious Tampa is with the pitcher injuries they've been having. Probably no chance to pry Caminero away from them with Stroman, but I'd love to see us try. If they want to throw in Manzardo after a down year, that would be very nice of them.
  10. The top four guys have been money since about mid-April. It's all of the other guys that are carrying gas cans with them to the mound.
  11. I agree with the other second round picks, but the goalie had been getting quite a bit of hype leading into the draft.
  12. depends on the guy. The higher end guys typically only stay one year, but injuries or guys that are on a longer development path can stay longer.
  13. My guess is they start to load up on a few RHD guys, bigger forwards, and yet more speed. I was really hoping the Rangers would take 35 + one of the other picks so that the Hawks could take Perreault, but nobody is trading picks tonight.
  14. Moore and Perreault are both there still. At least one will be available for the Hawks.
  15. I'm hoping for Oliver Moore. He certainly fits the high-speed, high-compete profile the team is trying to establish.
  16. No walks is critical for both of those guys. Good to see.
  17. Just got into the hotel tonight. Can anyone give me a zero line summary of what the Bulls did tonight?
  18. Is that good? It seems like it's good.
