  1. After today's game, here is the Cubs record against teams: Above .500: 29-39 Below .500: 29-15 It's not everything, but it isn't nothing either.
  2. The Reds and Brewers are both losing, too
  3. Morel was not picking up that curveball at all.
  4. He needs to throw strikes more consistently to have an impact. He's not on the 40 man yet, so other relievers have at least a slight advantage in being called up. It might happen, but I don't think it is likely right now.
  5. I was playing around in Fangraphs this morning and did a search for anyone at AA, age 20 or below and found a list of 8 guys with enough AB to qualify. So a pretty short list. I then ranked them by wRC+: After this exercise, I found myself asking how on earth any of the ranking services don't have Caissie as a top 100 guy.
  6. Depending on the ROS projections you're looking at, they may be based on preseason predictions. That's the default at Fangraphs. If you want to look at ROS based on how we've played to date, you have to make that selection in the options. We're much better there.
  7. Might as well go and break up the ACC while we're at it. Get the best schools from the conference before the SEC does.
  8. Admittedly, not a good one tho
  9. Nah - the conference is still the "Big 10", but the divisions are the "Atlantic 10" or "A-10" and the "Pac 10"
  10. meh - that was more health than success
  11. Adbert's been a starter more than a reliever in his career, tho
  12. Bears should be good this year
  13. For those not listening to Boog, Happ has seen 20 pitches and swung 3 times tonight
  14. They clearly borrowed the Cubs training staff for a while.
  15. Yeah, but I care more about StL feeling bad than I do about Baltimore feeling good.
  16. I'm personally cheering for Jack Flaherty to be amazing the rest of the year.
  17. Strop has a strong argument to be the best Cubs reliever of all time (career value). He's certainly near the top. I get where you're going with it, but that's a pretty lofty goal.
  18. Well, we could ask the hitters to get all their hits and walks in a single inning while asking the pitchers to spread out what they give up as much as possible. If they can't control that then there's going to be a lot of sequencing luck involved.
  19. Them doing the Fresh Prince post will live forever.
  20. What he said. (I really wish we could do the multi-level quote!)
  21. There was an NBA game last night?
  22. That last column is the one that's important to this discussion. The Cubs have, by far, the softest remaining schedule in baseball. That will be even more true after this weekend.
