  1. He's the last one to do it this early in the season. There have been others that get the promotion at the end of the season. For example, last year with Ramirez & Ballesteros.
  2. I vote we make this name change permanent

  4. And if he's not healthy...he should be in Arizona. fundamentally, he should be in Arizona
  5. fwiw, everything I've heard in the past has been pretty positive. It's possible CubinNY has just seen him on some bad days or where there are particularly wild pitchers going that would make any catcher look bad.
  6. Just a random thing I came across when looking up home run streaks last night: Just a reminder of how insane Bonds was. In 2004, he homered in seven straight games. This was the description of that streak that I found: "In 29 plate appearances, Bonds hit eight homers with 16 RBI and 10 runs scored. He slashed .722/.828/2.167 during this time, which led to a 555 wRC+. It also included a 37.9% walk rate and a 3.4% strikeout rate."
  7. I'd rather have Morel (https://www.fangraphs.com/players/daulton-varsho/19918/stats?position=OF)
  8. This was a fun re-read right now. (pats self on shoulder)

  10. Only two walks in 21 innings is really good, but only having 4 k's is awful!
  11. At first, I read this particular sentence as, "Each game is just one, and it's important to view them as mere cells within a living, changing orgasm of a season." I thought for sure you must have been referring to 2016 there.
  12. Just go without one this year
  13. Y'all are a bunch of ninnies. Cubs are finishing well over .500 and going to the playoffs.
  14. I'm still impressed that you were actually able to get them to do something!
  15. If it comes down to a trolling war between the two sites I like our chances. You may have numbers, but we have IMB
  16. We've traditionally had a strong focus on the minors here. A daily minor league report like this would be a great addition to the site!
  17. Can he bring Madrigal? He'd fit in the overhead compartment.
  18. Yeah, that's a big boy HR. It had to be hit pretty hard because the launch angle kinda sucked watching the video. It was just a laser leaving the yard.
  19. Holy crap on that HR Caissie https://twitter.com/LanceBroz/status/1656457700790632451?s=20 ------ eta Not sure why the tweet isn't showing. He hit the ball at 117 exit velo.
  20. It was an interesting article, for certain. If not Burtuzzi, I think there will be a number of other options available to the Hawks. I do think they start the shift from "rebuilding" to "building" now that they get Bedard. As mentioned, they'll still be trying to accumulate assets, but they'll also want to start surrounding the young guys with vets who will make that transition easier. As for this draft, I'd be very interested in how far the second tier of players extends. The top 4/5 players are said to have separated themselves from the field, but I'm curious about the next group of players. Does that next tier last through 19? Or do the Hawks need to package some picks to move up into that tier? Time to start reading up on the mid-first round guys.
