  1. Hahah, I got really excited, then I put my mouse over the link and noticed what it was.
  2. Hahah me too. Just a few minutes ago it did that, so while it was loading I went to Rotoworld to see if anything went down. :|
  3. Hey now...when others besides me do it...it's trolling.... :P Well aren't you all high and mighty, Mr. Mod ;)
  4. I only lurked then, but I vaguely remember that thread. I wish it was archived.
  5. I don't think it will be tonight. MacPhail, I'm sure, would have to run it by the owner since Markakis and Roberts are 1-2 on the owner's list of player favorites. So we're talking to them about both? :D Heh, in my dreams. If only in my dreams... To the best of my knowledge, only Roberts is part of any talk with the Cubs. Hendry has remain steadfast in saying he won't trade Hill or Pie. Sweet, thanks Bruce!
  6. I don't think it will be tonight. MacPhail, I'm sure, would have to run it by the owner since Markakis and Roberts are 1-2 on the owner's list of player favorites. Sorry to bother you Bruce, but have you heard any talk of this expanding to something bigger, like Roberts/Tejada or Roberts/Bedard, or is the club mainly focusing on working out a deal for Roberts?
  7. Maybe it's going down and he needs more time to gather info? Or maybe he has obligations other then filling us in. I mean...I guess. ;) He is trying to find a way to break it to us that the Brewers snuck in and got Fukudome in the last minute so we landed Alex Cora.
  8. If DeRosa was a better option than Theriot, they probably would have done that last year. My issue with this super utility thing I keep hearing is that there really isn't a place for a super utility player to play regularly if they get all the guys they are talking about getting. For example, if the Cubs go into 2008 with: Soto, Lee, Roberts, Theriot, Ramirez, Soriano, Pie and Fukudome, the only place DeRosa would sub regularly would probably be at SS. And if that's the case, I like DeRosa way more than Theriot, so let Theriot be the super sub and live with sub par defense at SS, whether that guy be DeRosa or Roberts. But then who would've played second for them last year? Or are you saying if DeRosa was better he would've played SS while Theriot played 2B? Even then though, I think it's something you'd have to look at and see if the difference in fielding is that great. Even if Theriot is better but the difference isn't all that much, I think it's something you have to pursue given the numbers DeRosa put up last year.
  9. Any chance we could move DeRosa to SS? I mean, he's played there sparingly throughout his career, I wonder if the staff could make it a project during ST and have him take most of his ST playing time at SS. It's not like Theriot is a stud defender over there, why not give DeRosa a shot?
  10. Mark Prior returning to the man who helped ruin his career. That sounds fun.
  11. Last year his line was: .246 .298 .386 and he plays middle infield yep, sounds like he would be a good fit for the cubs. :x
  12. And he was actually talking about playing young guys like Phillips and Edwin E. and the like
  13. Pie won't hit first, but I agree Fukudome looks to be our 2 hitter. Pie would be the worst person to lead off. Hyperbole. He might not be ready this year, but he did have a career .358 OBP in the minors.
  14. Pie is not going to lead off on this team. Regardless of what has been said I still think Soriano will lead off next year. I think it'd be this: LF Soriano 2B DeRosa 1B Lee 3B Ramirez RF Fukudome C Soto CF Pie SS Theriot
  15. Maybe Fukudome and Kuroda mated to make a Japanese Super-Athlete.
  16. How is his name even remotely hard to say or pronounce? It's basically phonetic. It's phonetic, but the vowels are sounded out differently than the cologne of the same name. Ramirez is Uh-Rah-Miss The cologne is Air-uh-miss Think Aramis wears the Aramis cologne?
  17. Dusty Baker is kind of emo. Thanks for the article Bruce!
  18. This is a great move by Hendry. Why would you trade a reigning MVP? Great job Jimbo, time to call it an offseason.
  19. I think we all understand this. We aren't making fun of Hendry, for once, but instead the Angels GM.
  20. Great news. I also like that blurb about Pinkel there.
  21. Ohman is owed $1.6 mil per the 2-year, $2.5 mil deal he signed last offseason, Infante is arbitration-eligible and earned $1.3 mil in 2007, so the Cubs probably save about $3 million. Not bad. Plus whatever money (I don't remember the amount) that we're saving from JJ
  22. Come on man, this is a family site. Fukudome I understand, it was a joke. Fukudome Ohhhh I get it now. ;)
