  1. you're going to judge him on one night? every pitcher has a bad night. does webb suck because the padres scored 5 off of him last night? he must not be the diamondback's best pitcher by your logic. Zambrano hasn't been the best pitcher on the Cubs this season. Hill and Lilly have been better. who do you start game 1 in the playoffs (assuming they're all equally rested)? don't know about you...but i start big Z. I'd start Hill. I'd still start Z. He's been bad lately (and early in the season). But really all of our top 3 have been really inconsistent. And don't anyone try and say Hill hasn't been, because all you have to do is go over the game logs to see that he has been. As have Lilly and Zambrano. But I still like Z's chances to dominate in any single game better than any other of our pitchers. But that's not so say I would be emphatic in that decision.
  2. Like I said, he's unmovable. We might as well hope for the best.
  3. Not underachieving overall, but he is at home.
  4. Yeah, that'll work. Soriano's unmovable. Booing him will solve nothing.
  5. Has anyone ever actually tried to defend it? It's totally indefensible. Having said that, I like having him on the team, and think that after a few weeks of I am not surprised by his poor play in the past couple games. Also, I think his poor play at home is a direct result of simply trying too hard. It's not a proper excuse, but I think he'll get over it. Unfortunately, that might wait until next season.
  6. If the Cubs win tomorrow, they'll be in better shape than when they came into the series. There's no need for anyone to run for the ledge.
  7. Yes, clearly the effort is lacking. It's nice that we are all psychic enough to intuit this as well.
  8. Now if you're gonna drill someone Z, drill Hart.
  9. Twinkies and cheeseburgers true Does eating so many burgers that you get a clinical dose of bovine hormones count as juicing? I wonder.
  10. The Gameday operator tonight is [expletive].
  11. bad news is they'll probably bring in Capuano As bad as Cap has been, even the Cubs would pound him.
  12. Jason's hitting well enough that I don't really care about the SB. If his OBP drops 50 or 60 points, I'll be on board with you. it concerns me a lot more if the cubs get to the playoffs. agreed, especially if we run into the Mets... but lets get there first If we get the Mets, we'd need Yadier Molina for it to make a difference.

  15. Yes, but he'll need to bring that PC down to make it there.
  16. I wouldn't care if he took a Hoveround out of the box. As long as he is in the lineup.
  17. Am I the only one who thinks Hart could double as a Geico caveman?
  18. either of them would have been out by five feet. they would be more likely to get hurt than get a hit there. Its beyond obvious that DLee/ARam wouldn't have beaten a play like that out, but as recent examples, that single of DLee's that landed right by the OOB padding in RF last night... most likely should have been a 2B. But again... I didn't bring it up to cause thread-consuming debate/argument. DLee didn't run that ball out last night because it was foul. At least, I thought it was. I guess I grew up differently... I was always taught to go hard - or at least as hard as my body/injuries would allow - until the ump told me otherwise. I doubt you ever played 162 games in a year. The ARam thing is the worst. He's got knee problems, he's got quad problems. I cringe when he hustles.
