No. 8 applies in games that are suspended before they become regulations games (4 1/2 innings or 5 if the visitor leads). The 7 inning rule only applies to games suspended for reasons other than weather. doubtful. I've never seen a 7 inning major league game. they re-start non-regulation games (another stupid rule). Have the criteria for rule 8 been met since the rule was instated?

Yeah, but then in that case LaRussa and the Cardinals are thinking... why didn't the ump wait one more pitch to put on the tarps? Duncan could've tied it up on that next pitch. Sucks for them.

Wood hasn't looked all the great and this is a pivotal game. We've got a 3 run lead. He needs to work his kinks out so he can be a valuable part of the pen coming down the stretch. You say that like a 3 run lead is safe? At least it is a multi-run lead. There is at least some margin for error.

It's like the old days with Kerry Wood. Poor Fernando Vina. Considering he was David Eckstein before David Eckstein was David Eckstein, I have no sympathy for him. I hated Vina a lot more than I hate Eckstein. And I hate me some Eckstein.

Like many Cubs pitchers, he seems to find it more sporting to spot the batter 2-3 balls before trying to get him out.

Jon Miller will tomorrow night, and he'll add his own flair to anyone with a remotely Latin-sounding name too. I hate when he does that. True, but people always complained about how he pronounced Perez, but he pronounced it correctly.

probably because he is bad cardinal who is amazingly good with them. how bad was sean's pitch to ryan? Ron and Co. didn't think it was all that bad of a pitch... If you give up a HR on an 0-2 count to anyone but Vlad Guerrero you did something wrong.
