Not quite the same thing but Kerry Wood was robbed of a no hitter in 1998 because of Kevin Orie booting a ball and it was called a hit. Ugh, don't remind me. IIRC, wasn't that game ranked by Bill James as the most dominant pitching performance ever? Not only should it have been a 20K perfect game, but it was against a team that could really hit. He hit a batter so it wouldn't have been a perfect game anyway. As far as best game, Wood got a game score of 105 for that outing, the highest ever in a nine inning game. I forgot. The funny thing is that I usually watched every game, but my friend and I decided to go golfing that day instead (and it rained), and returned to see only the ninth inning. I've probably watched 1,500 Cubs games from start to finish over the past 11-12 years, and the one I most would have liked to have seen I missed because I wanted to go golfing on a rainy day and forgot to tape it. To this day I have not seen it in it's entirety.
