  1. I agree. He seems to be trying to pull the ball most of the time now. You had to know he would start doing that after his mini power surge. It was totally predictable.
  2. Was he swinging for the fences again? Yup.
  3. This. There are so few games on WGN anymore that it really wouldn't make much of a difference. I'm going to have to shell out the dough for EI anyway, so whatever. Plus I wouldn't have to watch the fuzzy non-Chicagoland WGN feed, either.
  4. I have come to live with the streaks of Soriano, but his half assing, terrible route running, cant field a ground ball cleanly 2 steps from him in the OF ass is starting to really annoy me in LF. The guy isnt hitting, fine, he will get hot and hit. But, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, play some freaking defense out there. Granted there are times Alfonso frustrates me in LF, I still think he's an above average fielder. I'm not sure I'm buying that. The only thing keeping him from being horrid out there is his great arm. He's not consistently bad, but like at the plate, he seems to go through phases where he has his head completely up his arse.
  5. He is the consummate troll. Lurks around and waits for the rare opportunities he has to take jabs at the Cubs and not get laughed off the board, and then slinks back into the shadows. Personally, I liked it best when he came around during CPatt's hot start a couple years ago insinuating he was somehow fixed after joining the Reds, trying to shove it in our faces.
  6. I haven been to half those places, but I have to go with Subway. Quizno's would get the nod for appetizing me with the description of the sandwich the most, only so serve me something different and gross. I have eaten at Quizno's 3 or 4 times, and each time it was nasty. Maybe I just have bad luck.
  7. Strike 2 and 3 were both easily outside, with the latter being the worse of the two. Can't blame Soto for taking that, it was a half a foot outside. Eh, they were still too close to take. I wasn't the least bit surprised when blue pulled the trigger on strike 3.
  8. Geo's be stuck in one of those "take the good ones, swing at the bad ones" funks. Since opening day.
  9. Soto has watched a lot of hittable pitches go for strike 3 this season.
  10. You knew that was coming when it went to 2 strikes.
  11. Why would you bring in Hoff to lay down a bunt?
  12. I find it amazing Theriot wasn't even near first base when the throw got there. It was a slowly hit ball, but they turned it slowly. Ryan just isn't very fast, I guess.
  13. I'm sick of them altogether. Once every couple weeks would be OK, but they're really old at this point.
  14. That is a tough read. damn. It was. It might have even been powerful had someone edited the crap out of it.
  15. Yeah, I can't believe I omitted him. The only thing questionable about him is his position and how that relates to his health.
  16. HOW DARE YOU QUESTION THE FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER
  17. Hey now. I didn't say it was the worst thing ever, just that it isn't something that can just be let go. I think that maybe a few people here are just rationalizing having done it. I haven't done it, nor would I do it, but I don't just automatically ditch friends who have cheated and I certainly don't see why a ballplayer doing it changes anything. I agree with that. I would never ditch a friend over it unless they did it in a singularly horrendous manner. I just disagree with the notion that it is something we should just accept as natural. By the time you are an adult (30's), you should have a good idea as to whether you are capable of being monogamous. If you aren't, don't get into a committed relationship, it's as simple as that. I don't think it's "natural" per se, but I get why it often happens. I guess I'm more surprised at seemingly how many people seem to be let down by Carlo's maybe cheating on his wife. Personally, I'm actually surprised when I find out a young player is married in the first place as oppose to finding out one sleeps around or cheats. I just assume any of them are still single and reaping the benefits of their career, or if they're married I just assume they are or have gotten some on the side. If I were rich, in my 20's and away from home half the time, I wouldn't even attempt a monogamous relationship, I would work that for everything it was worth. Marriage could wait. I mean, we can't all be A.C. Green.

  19. Dunn is the guy I have always wanted to see in the HR derby.
