  1. Wood is sham shammity good.
  2. I don't know. Creative? Yeah, no question. But Resop's just not able to register outs. At all. Shouldn't you at least consider Ring for the next batter? OK, so the matchup doesn't favor him. Resop was apparently going to struggle in ANY matchup.
  3. People. Don't be celebrating this win too much. You don't know the animals I had to sacrifice to make it happen. I CAN'T KEEP THIS UP ALL YEAR.
  4. Preferrable. I was afraid of a quick pop bunt out & a DP.
  5. Isn't that what he does best? Still have to give him the opportunity. He is supposed to be the "money" player.
  6. That's it right there..... Guys like Steve Smith and Deion Sanders were taking off return duties because they had all pro value at their respective positions. I don't how anyone can assume Hester will become an all pro wide receiver given how raw he still is. I don't think there is anyway to spin this..it's a dumb move...which is becoming par for the course for this organization ever since they lost the Superbowl in 2007. I am kind of on the fence. The bottom line is, if the wr corp wasnt so awful, then this would not be an issue. Hester would be returning full time. Which makes it even more frustrating. When you see a coach begin to make these compensations because the players just aren't there, and clearly aren't going to be there, it throws up all kinds of red flags for me. I think Angelo's starting to drop the ball. Especially on offense; it's getting very, very bad.
  7. I think you have to be realistic to know Hester isn't likely to have the mental capacity to be an every-down receiver. Certainly not a #1. The kid is pure instinct, he's perfect for the kick return game. Lovie is convincing himself otherwise because this ballclub has failed to produce or acquire a good receiver. It's not a good sign. Not good at all. It doesn't take genius to be an impact receiver. Jerry Rice may have been the most heady guy out there, but physical gifts are more important than anything else out there. Muhsin's greatest asset was his size and his head, but neither Randy Moss nor TO are dominating through thought. After hearing the Chad Johnson interview on SC last night, I'd like to add his name to the latter category there. We're talking about 2 different things here though. Rice is very smart, vs. a guy like Moss who is average intelligence, maybe slightly below, but still enough to get by. Then there's Hester. I love the kid, but he's far, far below average intelligence. Who really cares? The kid's a star and loving life. But handling defenses, learning the finer details of beating defenders? I just don't see it. He didn't even know the plays last year, after a full offseason of being a receiver. There's an important difference here. A very important one.
  8. If we can't hit Dave stinkin' Bush then we may as well hang up our cleats. This is a guy who posted a GD 88 ERA+ last year. He *IS*, in fact, terrible.

  10. Alright Cubs, you're starting to mildly concern me. Please don't get swept. Please. Seriously, I can't sit here and hear it from Brewer fans about a sweep. You need to win today. I'm not kidding this time.
  11. If they don't win today. Man, it's REALLY going to be like Cubs.com
  12. Sometimes it takes a slimeball to know what's going on down in the slime. And such is the case with Canseco. He brought "it takes one to know one" to a different level.
  13. That's good info, thanks. The problem for me is, I imagine a slingbox-type-thing would work much better if it's plugged in to the network as opposed to wireless. ..and my TV sits well away from my network hub :(
  14. No kidding. Lovie plans on using Hester less frequently on returns (and more frequently in passing game), so Davis is going to be "needed" there. This is another mistake, IMO. This ballclub is tanking before our very eyes.
  15. Wrong on #1, wrong on #2, he's several years late on #3.... ....but on #4, I'm beginning to wonder myself.
  16. Oh yeah? Stop overreacting about people overreacting about people overreacting. You're not reacting enough! 'Dem's fightin' words buddy! :duel:
  17. There is no monthly charge for the Slingbox. Just the cost of the unit. If you can get to the internet on your laptop, you can access your slingbox. As for the hookup, it's just AV cables like anther AV equipment and an Ethernet cable to hook into your home network (to access your internet connection). I'm not familiar with the slingbox. How does it handle changing channels? I might consider buying one.
  18. That sounds like a really good idea. For that game I was actually planning on just exploring the stadium & grounds a little bit.
  19. The next two series vs the Astros and Pirates should give us an ounce of hope. Yeah, we need something to get the engines started here. We're stuck in neutral, Jesus.
  20. Stop overreacting about people overreacting.
  21. Please, please try not to be absurd. I appreciate the sentiments wolf, but I came into this season doubting that. How are we so amazingly talented? Just because every TV baseball person says it doesn't mean its true. Yeah I'm not getting it either. We have some good players and some really bad ones too. I never agreed with the predictions being heaped on us from the beginning. We've always had a very solid chance of being unseated by the Brewers. That was true until the final couple days of last season, and it remains true now. It should be decent ballclub. I don't see greatness here, on the whole. They should still be able to match last seasons win total and maybe flirt with 90. Which basically is what you said. Yep, that's fine. Might not be enough to make the playoffs this year though.
  22. I'm still not sold that Soto's '07 wasn't a fluke.
