  1. Albert couldn't do anything there except maybe grow an extra inch or three. How about actually covering the bag on time? I didn't notice that part of the replay, my bad. I was only looking at the actual throw once he was on the base. It was still a horrid throw. The Pixie dust must have blown away from the stadium before that pitch
  2. Oh Bob, you did not just refer to the proverbial "Slam range."
  3. :-& I guess you make Ankiel make a good throw, but he does have a good arm and Ward is slow as molasses in January.
  4. Neal started off shaky, and then at the *EXACT MOMENT* I warned him to not blow it, he suddenly started pitching well. Hmmmmmm. :-k
  5. Even without Sabathia I think the Brewers are a definite playoff team.
  6. Yay, we got our run back! Take that Ludwick.
  7. I think we've blown more than one lead after 6, Fred. Read it literally. 45-1 is correct. Oh, I see. You mean when we have the lead *only* after the 6th inning, not the 6th and beyond.
  8. Good bunt, not sure I like it though since Reed has 2 hits today against Welly.
  9. I think we've blown more than one lead after 6, Fred.
  10. On the bright side, Sean Marshall has been good. I don't feel comfortable with only a 2 run lead on the road though.
  11. That might come back to haunt us. Need to score more than one w/ bases jammed and no out.
  12. Well that's it then. I'm going to bed. Got a long drive tomorrow.
  13. because they don't throw breaking balls during batting practice. yes yes I know that. I was kind of hoping he would learn to hit a breaking ball, ya know?
  14. So we're playing without our HR leader, our CF, our best pitcher and our other CF, RF and SS are all banged up. Plus, if we're honest about it the Sox have a very good team at home. I'm not worried....especially after we rally to W tonight! GO CUBS! Yep. That *should* be the answer, but sometimes it's not. One of the problems with hoping "getting healthy" will save you is that the injury situation on a team is a moving target. You need to get back all your guys, and they need to get back into their rhythm, without other players going down. Good outing by Marshall tonight -- really just two bad pitches. Can't ask for more than 7IP/3ER from the guy.
  15. Well, we're a sliding baseball team now. Nobody should be suprised, we weren't going to keep winning like we were all year. That said though, Lou better have the answer for this slide before it becomes a collapse. I hope it's as simple as getting some of our pieces back -- sometimes it's not that easy.
  16. Firebomb the Cell and millions of cockroaches and rats will scurry out of the area towards the north side.
