  1. Larry King Live is a tribute to George Carlin. That's a re-run, but definitely more entertaining than this.
  2. I wish I could say how fast he was throwing today but I don't trust the gun. His FB was showing up anywhere from 90 - 94 MPH. He struggled with control, but the Isos couldn't get much good contact against him. Some pretty good defense behind him today too, other than the dropped ball in the outfield (though they had one too, and it looked like everyone was struggling with balls hit in the air as it was bright & sunny). Got to see 2/3 ICubs wins. It definitely helped me keep my mind off the disaster that is the Cubs/Sox series. Caught a foul ball today too :) It was a screamer that rebounded hard off the skyboxes.
  3. Jim Hendry needs to send a tape of this weekend's series to the league office to have issues like this resolved because this has been awful umping all weekend. All 3 of the PCL umps I saw this weekend were better than this. I think MLB needs to re-evaluate some of these guys if they can.
  4. Much sadness at seeing Harvey's name and remembering in '04 at Fitch Park watching him jack like 10,000 balls over the fence and being amazed. Why you let me down big guy?
  5. I'll report my layman's view on Samardzjia at some point -- whenever I feel like connecting to the internets.
  6. Just some random impressions from my first Iowa Cubbies games ever: Hart looked very solid. Too bad the in-game gun was so inconsistent, I have no idea what anyone's velocity was. Mathes was iffy. Let the first 3 batters he faced crossed the plate, then was solid, then lost it again later on. Andres Blanco is good defensively. Piggy sucks. It was awesome getting 2 7-inning games for the price of one. Especially since my tix were for front row.
  7. If that were true, Soto would have been bounced up & down to Des Moines a few times this year.
  8. Hahahahahhhh.. There's your worldwide leader, folks.
  9. Is TT really 6'10, or is just wishful thinking? I have not seen anywhere, outside of Thorpe, that says Thomas is now 6'10. So again, has this been confirmed? I have my doubts about that as well.
  10. Wow, guess I'll avoid the sports shows tonight.
  11. really? the first place, best record in baseball 2008 cubs remind you of the 96-loss 2006 cubs? sorry, dudes, but it is really, really hard to stomach these threads. try enjoying the season a bit. He's just saying he gets a weird feeling right now. Haven't you ever gotten a creepy feeling in real life where you feel like something is wrong even though nothing is? You people are weird. sounds like free floating anxiety. A few things have gone wrong, so naturally, everything else will. haha, that just reminded me of Carlin. He did a bit called "free floating hostility"
  12. The only thing I will say about the Sox is that I agree with you -- they're pretty good. They do like to smack talk though, which is sad. I guess the classness behavior filters down all the way from the GM, down through the manager, and to the players.
  13. That Twins/Crew matchup is interesting. Something's gotta give, can't stay the hottest team unless you beat the other hottest team.
  14. Wait, someone get me an eye chart, I could have sworn I just read an actual argument that Kirk Hinrich is as good as Derrick Rose.
  15. How many Cubs are going to get injured, anyway? I'd like to know up front so I can prepare myself mentally. This is starting to get ridiculous.
  16. It's good to know we're stealing signs so we can win all our home games. Thank God, or we might have lost yesterday.
  17. wow McHale looks like he actually made a good deal I kind of figured when I heard ESPN painting it as the worst deal ever for the T-Wolves that they were wrong. But then again, whenever ESPN says anything I usually assume it's wrong first, until it's proven right. Is that the same Mike Miller that played for Florida? It's this Mike Miller: http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_previousnews.aspx?sport=NBA&leaguenum=&id=682
  18. Mucho propoganda props to Cubbies75 for finding the coolest Demp pic vs. the ugliest Contreras pic :) I'm sick of this losing crap. How about a nice easy road win today?? I don't even care who we are playing, let's get back to 20 over.

  20. Kirk Hinrich, please report to Paxson's office.
  21. I'm not expert enough in basketball to really judge each pick technically, but I find it hard to believe every one of these picks are 100% awesome like ESPN is making it out to be. Half of these guys are going to flat out fail, and a portion of the rest won't live up to their draft position -- history pretty much writes that one in stone. Someone's not making the best decisions here, I'd sure like to know who but ESPN thinks it's better just to kiss everyone's ass.
  22. Wow. What did you people do to my team?
