  1. I wanted that to be highlights from his sham k'ing of the side. Someone should splice together some highlights. Strike 3......"you followin' me camera guy??"
  2. But rotoworld adds this to it... Bizarre! Taking Chacon at his word (which is probably a mistake), I guess Wade's not only one of the worst GMs in baseball, but an unprofessional hothead as well. Redassing a player in front of the team while they're sitting down eating? What kind of behavior is that for an exec? He should have just quietly ended the conversation after Chacon refused to meet with him, walked into his office, and drew up the walking papers. But it sounds like he was yelling at the guy for refusing to meet with the manager and GM about his demotion to the bullpen which he also refused. There are tens of thousands of execs who would "redass" an employee for that kind of behavior, regardless of whether they were in front of fellow employees (or perhaps especially if they were in front of fellow employees) and eating. He's a bad GM, but I don't see anything wrong with that. I agree. He wouldn't even go in to a meeting with his boss? That's crap. Who's signing your paycheck bud?
  3. I'm afraid I have to agree. I don't understand people's inability to separate the team from the individuals. I love the Cubs. So I have to love every player? Do I have to love the manager? Bench coach? [gasp] GM? If you can't separate supporting a team from unconditional love of every player and any other individual associated with the team, then something is wrong with you. I agree with this, but trust me there's no such thing as unconditional love when it comes to ballplayers. A guy goes into a 2-month slump, I don't care who he is -- that "love" is suddenly no where to be found. The problem I have with really "liking" Edmonds is that I know damn well he could leave in November and say the same sorts of things about us that he said about the Cards when he left them. He doesn't really pull his punches. I definitely root for his play on the field though. But I consider that to be a separate thing.
  4. And while we are at it, maybe the Bulls can add Thomas and Noah to the deal and take back Curry just to be "fair." Rosner stupidity surpasses Sam Smith. To even run the risk of watching your howngrown star blossoming with one of your heated/heated rivals like the Knicks is pure stupidity. I'm having real difficulty understanding how Rozner's boss lets him put this stuff out. My God that's stupid. If I didn't know it was Rozner, I'd think it was an Onion piece or something. Sure, it's all about free speech and opinions, but at some point if I'm Barry's superior, don't I call him in to talk about the quality of his ideas - ? That's literally dumber than most jokers off the street who call into talk shows.
  5. it *IS* rather irresistible. SHAM!
  6. It's like clockwork. Wood save, bumped shammy thread.
  7. youre kidding right? thats like saying hitler was a better person than mother theresa No. Fontenot is better. You may be alone on this one, TT TT, could be right here. While Hoffpauir has been impressive in his 35 major league AB's so far, it is a small sample size. Their minor league numbers are similar, and Hoffpauir has played at an older age throughout his career than Fontenot. I'll still take Hoff. He's got some upside in terms of hitting for power in the bigs because of his size. Fonty doesn't.
  8. Wood 98 MPH fastball. Oh yea, good to know he can still whip that out every once in awhile.
  9. I'll buy him a beer to soften the blow. I want someone better off the bench than him.
  10. Murton! I'm going to guess that when Johnson comes back, EPatt stays, Fontenot is gone. I doubt it since Lou loves him. Lou can see. He's horrible. He's got to figure out a way to get someone better than Fonty.
  11. I can't hold it back anymore. You suck Mike.
  12. I won't criticize your avatar, but I will say every time I see it I think of Band of Brothers. That was a great series, but I had a hard time taking the guy from Office Space seriously. Well he did play pretty much the one guy who really couldn't take much seriously himself... Easy solution: watch BoB first, then Office Space 2nd. That's how I did it 8-)
  13. I won't criticize your avatar, but I will say every time I see it I think of Band of Brothers.
  14. No doubt in my mind. He's been throwing that back door slider for awhile. Looks like it'll be outside, but catches the corner. It's a good pitch, even though it doesn't break down very much.
  15. I noticed. Looks like he's taking the bite off in order to throw strikes.
  16. I wanna see him get through this scoreless first. Better control so far though.
  17. Well thanks Cubs, instead of having a relaxing blowout I now have to actually care about this thing because it's not over.
