    Ditto. Im fairly confident that we'll make the playoffs one way or another, but it will be a rocky road, and we wont coast as we once thought we would. However, once we get there, I feel that we can dominate. Zambrano and Harden can hang with any 1-2 in the league, and not too many NL teams have a 3-4 that can answer to Dempster and Lilly. We just have to hope that we can get homfield advantage for the 2 NL series'. If they do win the pennant they better learn how to win on the road. Thanks to Selig... It's the bane of our existence that will follow us through the entire season. Don't need to be great on the road, but being this bad really hurts.

    I'm having a little difficulty mustering up the same level of excitement for the Bears as I've had in recent years. Just having trouble seeing the plan here, the direction. It's like -- OK fine, we have a good defense. When will we get some O on this squad? Why are we wasting yet another year of career off this defense with near-league-worst offense? It's starting to wear on me a little. We need more points being scored on offense, that's the end of it for me. Glad the defense will be good n' all, but that's only half the equation and it doesn't even look like the org is really trying to remedy the other half. Frustrating. And we haven't played a single preseason game yet.

    I have it on good authority that you've started to suck a little. valid. then in the spirit of the title of this thread: yes, i remember when i didn't suck. I've noticed that I'm sucking too much lately too. I need to get it in gear, and quickly.

    Historically, not long. Was it his wrist or arm that was broken? Hand I thought it was a broken finger? I could be remembering wrong, though. IIRC it was one of the bones in the hand that the finger connects to. Yes, I know that's an incredibly medical statement. I just remember his injury sounded very much like something similar I had as a teen. I also broke the same wrist like a year afterwards -- the wrist injury was *much* more intense and required much more rehab for me.

    It's not like we've needed Wood anyway, sadly. If I could pick a perfect time for a blister to form on our closer's hands, it would be in the midst of 4/5 loss period where the closer may as well be handling the dinner plans for the team during the game.

    Don't play Soriano tomorrow. Especially if Hudson is hurt badly. Believe it or not I am a bit worried about retaliation.

    That and smoking and drinking. No doubt. Total frog voice on those Rauch K's. Whatever. Apparently he just did a retrospective where he details his hatred for the Cubs *AGAIN*

    Grace has this really annoying habit of taking a young, unproven player and jumping right to a comparison with a hall of famer.

    As if football season won't be a complete abortion this year. Yeap. Bulls in rebuilding mode. If the Cubs don't come through we're down to praying for the Blackhawks to come through.
