  1. At least Reed looks like he took a shower today.
  2. Yes. He's got blistah on his fingah. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well you know how that goes. first its a blister then it gets all infected with flesh-eating bacteria and gets all black and rotted, then they amputate his arm. career over.
  3. Hi Cubs. . . . oh hell you pretty much know the rest. win win don't lose or i'll kill you blah blah.
  4. If Will Carroll shuts up, there's still the seemingly ever-gaining Brewers and Cardinals to make sure you can't enjoy the season in peace.
  5. I'm going to go with the consensus pick Vikings Packers Bears Lions Not sure if the Packers grab a WC spot yet...but I'm leaning towards no. That's my irrational Packer hate speaking though probably. Name 5 teams in the NFC that are better than the Packers. You can't do it. Not hard to imagine that Dallas, NY Giants, and Minnesota being better than Green Bay. After that, only either Philly or Washington has to be better to keep the Packers out of the playoffs. I don't know that anyone in the NFC West or South would be better, but they don't have to be to win those divisions. My predictions for the NFC Central. Minnesota 11-5 Green Bay 9-7 Chicago 7-9 Detroit 6-10 Sounds 'bout right. If the Bears were to finish over .500 it would be a big suprise in my mind, great defense or not.
  6. I'm sensing a losing streak to start off the 2nd half.
  7. Lose today and some of the creatures of the Earth will have to die. Their lives are in your hands, Cubs.
  8. This was a piece of stinking crap game now wasn't it. Earth to offense.
  9. It won't make us a Super Bowl contender. More than likely Favre wouldn't be nearly as effective with the offensive line and potential lack of running game we have in place. I see way too many botched plays by the O-Line leading to him forcing throws and interceptions. See 2005 Green Bay Packers. We already have a guy that can throw a lot of INTs. I'd rather see if we can develop Orton personally and see how things go. You are right that I think the D can be 2005-esque this year, but how can we guarantee they will stay healthy? Favre would be 100X better than Grossman or Orton. Sure he wouldn't make us a super bowl contender but he'd bring us a hell of a lot closer than what we have. I doubt he'd ever come here either, but he would definitely be an improvement over our current situation, which to be honest looks downright bad on that side of the ball.
  10. Why wouldn't he? I don't see St. Clair beating him out, thats for sure. Ideally it would be nice to be able to give him a little time to get up to speed before thrusting him into LT in the NFL. Nobody knows what his learning curve will be yet. Maybe he's awesome day 1, I don't know. I find it likely he'll struggle a bit early on though. I don't know how ideal that is. Maybe for a QB that's true. But I have no problem with a first half of the first day draft pick starting at LT from day 1. Draft position isn't the real question though. It's more how good he is coming out of college, how polished, how quickly he learns. I still know little about Williams though and I'm not planning on visiting training camp this year either, so I'm basically just bringing it up out of curiosity.

  12. Will Williams start day 1 at LT? 'Cuz if so, he could actually turn out to be a very good LT, but nevertheless GOrton might still need to run for his life this year.
  13. man, you are like 0 for the week. obviously the cubs had no intention of drafting/keeping hamilton. but that doesn't change the fact that the cubs could have drafted/kept hamilton. so imagining the cubs with hamilton is not as crazy as you people are making it out to be. Yeah but talking about this will probably increase the Cub fan suicide rate and stuff.
  14. I don't buy that Hamilton couldn't hit homers in the final round because he was tired. He rested for like 45 minutes in between the 1st and final rounds with only a few swings in between.
  15. If the Bears get him, I won't complain. What's one more mediocre running back? He's leaning towards Chicago over Pittsburgh if Rotoworld's source is to be believed: http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/playerbreakingnews.asp?sport=NFL&id=2659&line=118038&spln=1 Eh. League minimum one-year deal, put him on the depth chart in training camp, see what he has left. Not much risk there.
  16. Glad I stuck around to watch that. To be honest it was getting boring, I was going to change over to something else.
  17. He got jipped on that 502' homer too. That was off the back wall. That's going to travel probably another 15-20 feet.
  18. That was beyond anything I've ever seen. Too bad he didn't save a couple for the gold balls. He can just rest now until the finals.
  19. I'll bet MLB wishes whoever is manning the dump button would have dumped that one. Nice comment.
  20. no, the bleachers are still too dangerous if you aren't paying attention, ask yeti. The real solution here is to implement a no kid rule. It's just too dangerous.
  21. True. I just glanced at Jason's numbers and was mildly suprised to find he's a 101 ERA+ Probably some teams out there that would like to be able to get league-average performance from their #5 starter. Although for Jason's price? That's another matter.
  22. What about the incentive that they suck to high heaven and need to start doing something about their baseball team? I know, I know -- doesn't mean much in terms of the deadline. If you reek now, may as well reek for another couple weeks.
  23. When he did the "S-A-TUR-DAY NIGHT!" thing, I fell off my couch. That call was the worst and best thing ever, all at the same time.
