  1. You do realize who else is a rookie, right? It doesn't matter if you're a rookie when you're a future triple crown winner. Jake Fox is the best batter the Cubs have! He needs to play every single day, or be traded to a team that will actually play him. A team with good sense. I hear the Cardinals are looking to mix up their OF. Jake.... (inhale) Fox... (and let it out). Ahh. That's refreshing. Wow. LOL, amusing.

  3. Hahah. Ahhhahahah. If it were to be retracted, I would probably scream and laugh at the same time.
  4. Well, good old Banedon is one example on my side :)
  5. I don't know how you can say this when I've heard so many mixed feelings on the Cutler situation. Lots of Bears fans are concerned about his diebetes, w-l record in Denver, attitude issues that led to him leaving Denver and the lack of receivers in Chicago, so much so that there's nowhere near consensus belief that he'll be amazing. None of that means the expectations aren't still insanely high. If there is not a consensus belief that performance will be amazing how can expectations be high? All of what I said is an indication that expectations aren't insanely high. Sure, some individuals may have insanely high expectations, but Bears fans, if they can be classified as one, don't have those expectations. I would say they are generally high, but not insane by any stretch. People expect better performance than Orton and Grossman and therefore a better record, and they should expect that. I think you're injecting your own, more reasonable, understanding of the situation on to Bear fans as a whole.
  6. My wife thinks I'm in for disappointment...cuz she thinks there's no way he can live up to my expectations. How can he possibly meet Bears' fans expectations? They think he's going to show up and shoot lightning bolts out of his ass. The first time he throws a bad pick all that love is going to turn to disappointment. It's bound to happen. 8. They've busted others for clerical mistakes. The NFL busted the Bears on a clerical mistake. It's a simple procedure that everybody gets right most of the time. Why did these idiots send this in normal mail? Is that where they are cutting costs? Exactly. This is like Angelo's missed checkbox error all over again. I'm thinking the Hawks could be in trouble here. It's unbelievable that they wouldn't be sending things like this with some sort of certification and guaranteed delivery timeline.
  9. Having worked years ago at a downtown Chicago hotel bar where a number of teams stayed, she doesn't even look like she'd get a first glance at being "road beef". But then again I wouldn't call her a slump buster. You can't even imagine how gorgeous some of the jersey chasers are that I saw come through the place. Yeah, I know. This woman was obviously fatal attraction to the nth degree. I wonder if McNair even saw it coming. She's DUIing all over town, has a gun -- sheesh. If you're going to dump your wife, at least find a sane woman and then break it off officially. Don't tool around with a psycho.
  10. Plans to go to TC confirmed. I'll be there from 8/1 - 8/3. The plan is to let the masses go for the Cutler autographs, while I secure a good spot to watch practice from :)
  11. Yeah, I just hope he remembers he's garbage soon.

    2009 UFL

I'm not so sure. One practical reason why minor leagues in football don't work is that the useful life of a football player is so short. Every snap of the ball, the clock is ticking as more punishment builds up on the body. Putting something between college and the pros would just wear players out before they were ever able to play in the NFL. I think it works better to just keep players on the depth chart or practice squads, where they can work on their skills without suffering injuries and surgeries that take away their natural abilities. I'm not opposed to this league idea though. I hope it works. Can't be worse than the XFL.
  13. I wonder if his wife knew anything about the affair. That's got to be pretty devastating to get a phone call one day: "Your husband has been murdered. Oh, he was cheating on you too. Have a nice day."
  14. I think it was strike, but let's not get carried away here. It was up & in, far from a ball perfectly down the middle.
  15. At least 6 inches inside! No question!
  16. Looks like old unintentional intentional.
  17. It's just a hard luck turn of events for us. It happens. So was Bradley losing the ball in the sun (which can happen to any outfielder) but a bunch of people saw fit to complain about that and tell Bradley to go eff himself. Come on, you're just angry because it didn't work out for us. We all are. But seriously, tell me what the difference is. It doesn't have anything to do with Fonty's baserunning. I don't even know why you are bringing it up.

  19. Then you take your chances with Hill up, the bases loaded and one out. Fuld hit that on the button. That's almost always a single short of what happened happening: the infielder making a perfect leaping stab at it. You can't gamble like that's likely to happen when a single is the far more likely outcome whenever a ball is hit like that in that direction. Yeah, I don't want my baserunners playing to the 10% chance over the 90% chance.

  21. You got to be kidding me Yeah I don't get it. There's nothing Fonty can do there. Shall we keep every runner right on the base now?
  22. I'm guessing they're busy making fun of our board having a hard-on for Sam Fuld. It's kind of tongue-in-cheek.
