  1. Tigers announcers are beside themselves that Rayburn did that. Nice job Gregg you bozo.
  2. Is there any way Gregg can take it easy on me tonight? I've had enough drama recently with this club.
  3. Yup, so the point is...why bother analyzing when you don't know what your talking about? It goes beyond bloggers and into mainstream media. I can't remember how many times the Bears were dismissed in 2006 simply because of the name Rex Grossman. Yes QB is very important and Grossman was a wild mistake prone gunslinger and a below average overall QB but there are 54 other players on a team. There are a few football Gus that know what their talking about and the rest are complete morons. It's why the whole world talks about nothing but the Patriots and Colts. Then they all wake up one day and go, "holy crap the Steelers have won 2 Super Bowls in the last 4 years!" Yeah -- there's more to the league than Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. They might want to take a step back and realize that for a change.
  4. Yeah, Suppan's a stinkfest tonight. Makes me happy.
  5. Face it, that's how most football fans do their analysis. They just look at QB, RB, WR, maybe a TE or two. That's it. Maybe if there's a monster DT or LB, they'll factor that in. But for the most part, they talk skill player, they think skill player, and they predict based on skill players, and skill players alone. And all these Summer time predictions are forgotten by the time training camp starts, to say nothing of the actual season. So it's kind of pointless, other than as idle banter to get you by while there's no actual football.
  6. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm What a curious choice of player to single out, eh? Hehehe. Yeah.
  7. Easy come, easy go.
  8. Yeah, you just have to know the posters who provide some value, and ignore the rest of the riff raff. That said, I haven't been over there in months.
  9. I always considered it obvious that Ram wouldn't be 100% again in '09. Not a surprise, but still disheartening.
  10. Nope, sorry. Still a stupid decision. End of story. BTW, welcome to NSBB!!
  11. That was particularly boneheaded by Lou. What is it with him this year? Is he even paying attention all the time?
  12. He was found today in Normal, IL and is being transported back to Chicago. Well, he lasted the weekend anyway. He took off South and Bloomington/Normal is as far as he could get? =D>
  13. I bet fewer than 20 percent the standing, applauding fans know that DeRosa went to Penn. And I bet some of those people don't know that Penn is an Ivy League school. Only about 35% of Penn graduates know Penn is an Ivy League school. I was fine with the cheering until it was DeRo's 3rd and 4th AB on Sunday. Then it got a wee bit nauseating, for me anyway.
  14. Yea I was there also, sitting in the left/center bleachers, and the bleachers cleared out quite a bit when the 9th inning was over. I was like wtf. Yea it was hot as hell, and I definately paid for it(forehead and head with blisters from sunburn) but that was the best game Ive ever been to in person. The only thing I was wondering is if people had the 5pm Amtrak to hit or something. I was sitting in between Indians fans, and they weren't leaving. AND they had a 6 hour drive home to contend with. I was afraid the crowd mix was going to approach 50/50 levels for awhile, though it never got that bad. Yeah. If the Indians fans can stick around in the heat for their ballclub, I'll be damned if I'm letting them chase me out.
  15. IIRC, once Meche wasn't going to happen, Lilly seemed like a pretty viable option. I could be confusing the timelines though. Maybe a few people thought the dollars were a bit high? Either way, it's been an example of a good Hendry signing, IMO.
  16. I can't imagine giving up Sean Marshall for a DeRo rental period. Seriously?
  17. He made every start until he got hurt. It seems like he hasn't pitched much because he missed nearly a month on the DL. And while it wasn't an arm injury, it was clearly related to throwing, which has caused him all sorts of injuries in his career. I guess if you are a starting pitcher and throwing causes problems, that's not a good thing.
  18. I've got this vision in my head of Cutler trying to make it through the little fence-path to the practice field, and people are climbing all over each other to try to get autographs. It has the potential to be both nightmarish and hilarious at the same time.
  19. Yeah, I'm not sure how long it will continue, but I'll take it while it lasts.
  20. It would be nice if the Cubs took more precaution with Guzman and Harden, though. How could they take more precautions with Harden? When they acquired him they talked about skipping starts and giving him extra time between outings while holding down his pitch count. Yet at the outset of this year they tried none of that, having him go every 5th day and steadily increasing his pitch count in the starts leading up to his injury. They shouldn't be sending Guzman out for multiple inning outings or too many back to back games. They should let Harden have 5-6 days between starts and maybe skip one rotation when there are off days to mix-in, and be ready to go to the bullpen once he gets into the mid-80's. All it takes is one extended at-bat to quickly push that to the mid-90's and 100+, which he can't handle. It just seems like he hasn't really pitched all that much to begin with. And then the injury he had wasn't even an arm injury anyway.
  21. Hopefully there's a good many more out there like him so I don't have to wait in a mile long line come training camp. That's right everyone. The Bears did nothing this offseason. Nothing to see here. Go to Navy Pier this year, avoid Bourbonnais, it's going to be boring :)
  22. Sadly, it was Harold himself who posted the article. I might actually need to use my brain at work today, only now I'm not sure if I will be able to.
