  1. She looks like she might have a little psycho buried deep in there somewhere. Check her gun-buying history. "I'll need the results of your latest AIDS test, and any receipts from gun purchases in the past 10 years, honey."
  2. Whew. I loved DeRo as a Cub, but it would have been downright weird to see Cub fans give him a standing ovation as a Cardinal.
  3. The Braves are apparently offering up Vazquez for an "impact bat." With Tim Hudson set to return soon they have decent SP depth, but little offense and Vazquez is a good trading chip. Counting on injured guys always seems to dicey to me. But I guess you have to take risks.
  4. Yanks had a couple home run balls called back and they instituted replay. A couple more calls like this against Jeter and they'll probably have to put manager's challenges in.
  5. I don't see the Braves as being out of it yet. Why would they unload their starting pitching when they aren't all that far back, in a division where the leading teams have been lackluster? That makes little sense to me.
  6. There must be a handbook in every PR person's desk, where it states in bold, italicized, and underlined text: "If your guy says something stupid, It was taken out of context."
  7. ive seen you. and she is, at the very least, good enough for you creepy. but she killed steve mcnair, so my instincts to avoid her and her hooknose would've been a good move. she looked like she was high maintenance and crazy. I would say she is below the line. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zdGBL0PhJE&feature=related I'm pretty sure that murder makes it impossible to be hot enough to be above the line. Not knowing she's a psycho wench, I'd........probably not tell her to leave.
  8. Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb. They'll only pitch him a few innings and then go to Marshall? I don't know.
  9. I've had enough "weird things" with this club, man. How about just no more weird stuff this year?
  10. I turn away for a little bit to do some work and all hell breaks loose.
  11. Here's the Reuters article on the Utay bid: http://www.reuters.com/article/technology-media-telco-SP/idUSN0732549320090707
  12. LOL. Well, don't worry. When the Crew takes 3/4 from the Cubs it tends to turn the Cubs boards into a war zone, too.
  13. So there's still 2 bids on the table, meaning we're really back at square 1. =D> This is becoming quite awesome.
  14. Come on Demp, put in a good start today.
  15. Pretty much all the fans at hfboards.com, which is where I go to read what knowledgeable hockey fans think, were drooling over him and hoping for a much bigger deal. I never thought Barker was all that special, but I guess I'd have to defer to fans who follow the sport more than I do.
  16. Why didn't we just let Barker go and pay Versteeg the money in the first place? If we've got to overpay one and let the other go, I'd rather keep Versteeg.
  17. We know how they handled it, the NHLPA filed a grievance. An arbitrator will decide. The fact that they paid Barker more than he should have gotten if he was still really just a RFA leads me to believe the Blackhawks think Versteeg has a great case and will likely become an UFA. As an UFA, I don't think the Blackhawks would be due any compensation if Versteeg signed elsewhere. That would be a huge loss. I'm pretty sure Barker would have gotten that much, at minimum, as an RFA. Really? Wow.
  18. There were local Madison guys ripping Braun well before Melvin's comments came out. Not sure about Milwaukee, but it was most definitely noticed before Melvin decided to get angry about it in the press.
  19. That sounds like restricted though, not unrestricted.
  20. I like Versteeg, but he is not a $4 million dollar player right now. He's more of a $1.5-$2 mill player. If some team wants to offer $4 mill for him, then....bye-bye Kris. It would suck, but I don't think it's the end of the world if we lose Versteeg. Good young player, but if that's the worst we suffer, we should still be a very good hockey team. The fact that it's not the end of the world is meaningless. If they are going to lose him it's going to be strictly based on managerial incompotence, not because "thems the breaks and another team wanted to pay more." This would be a huge blow. Losing good young talent for absolutely nothing isn't something you just shrug off. Just trying to see anything positive in what is obviously not a good situation.
  21. That's amazing. He should become a motivational speaker. It is amazing. All these years dedicated to the science of motivation, and Braun discovers all you have to do is the equivalent of a big "WAAAAAH!" and everything turns around instantly.

  23. Buy illegal gun on Thursday DUI on Friday Kill McNair early Saturday That's quite a weekend.
  24. They need to, but they won't. Hendry won't admit it was a mistake (especially since it was a two-year contract). I think the best we could hope for would be for Miles to remain on the DL. I'll take it.
  25. I can't see the court nixing the deal either. Why would they? Part of the function of the court is to to help clear debt, which the sale would most certainly help do.
