  1. Apparently Stanford would rather not have the better bowl bid.
  2. I'm glad he's OK, but just thinking about that woman chasing after him with one of his own golf clubs makes me laugh. LOL.
  3. Yeah, I'm not big on Martz but I think he makes a certain amount of sense given the situation. Jay will just have to deal with the possibility of 3 OCs in as many years because keeping Turner is NOT acceptable no matter what.
  4. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20091123&content_id=7704422&vkey=pr_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc I didn't see this posted anywhere and I'm not sure it makes a big impact on the team but I figured I'd post it. What is an executive VP anyway? Is it any different from a normal VP? And why didn't we have one before? Sounds like essentially a helper for Mr. Kenney.
  5. Oh man this game is really gonna suck.
  6. That one penalty looked a little shaky on Buf, as it looked to me like the goalie and he just got tangled up. Plus they ignored the punches the goalie threw afterwards too. Regardless though, they just didn't play well enough to win. Ducks aren't good either. So that game kind of stunk. They've been on the road for awhile, it's got to suck to be away for Thanksgiving, and then coming off a huge win, I can see why they were a little out of it. Let's get that circus to move on to its next town and get some hockey back in the United Center :)
  7. Bulls vs Jazz on TNT right now. Hinrich is apparently out with ligament damage in his hand. Need to find a way to pick up one more game on this trip, let's go.
  8. Haha, a caulk gun for condiments now?
  9. Broncos/Giants should be a really good game, though. Probably better than the first two, but the Broncos haven't been entertaining to watch for awhile now. Turkey's in, happy Thanksgiving everyone!
  10. We rule dudes! What the hell, we look like the strongest team in the land right now. That was amazing. I can't imagine a better way to kick off his Hawks career for The Hoss.
  11. I know it's wrong to shoot low, but he is better than Turner. And he's at least seen what good quarterbacking looks like.
  12. Awesome! Yeah, I'm pretty much glued to Comcast for this one.
  13. Martz isn't in San Francisco this year. He's working for the NFL Network. Well there you go. That's pretty rare for you, raw :) I'll chalk it up to Turkey on the brain.
  14. Sweet lord no. Lovie's been hooking up with colleagues from his past though. I think there's a chance Martz is the guy. I'm not sure how much of a chance, but there's got to be a possibility.
  15. Both Thanksgiving day games look bad again. I wonder why they don't make sure one of the matchups looks decent before the beginning of the season? It was pretty obvious both the Lions & Raiders would be marginal or bad, even back when the schedule was made.
  16. They've already beaten the Sharks at home a little while ago. And they're off to a great start on the circus trip. They don't need to win this game for me to continue thinking they are above the rest of the Chicago sports fray. It would be nice if they won, but I'm not hanging any judgements about the team on it.
  17. When you start to think about these permutations, it seems clear that the best move for the football team is to eat that money and start with a good HC, and a solid OC. If they don't, and they play games with Cutler and multiple OCs, they're sure to ruin him for good.
  18. I'd welcome Cowher all things considered. I think he's certainly got a better chance at identifying an acceptable OC than Lovie. I'd take Shanahan first, but wouldn't complain about Cowher. I'd be very surprised to see either one actually happen.
  19. I can't see them paying Lovie not to coach, plus paying someone else to coach. I doubt it happens as well. But the fans want change, so I believe this will continue to be a sore spot all the way through. Especially because there's a perception that not grabbing one of these big names this offseason would be a big missed opportunity.
  20. I don't know about anyone else, but for me it wouldn't have to be Shanahan asking for full GM duties. If he's going to come in and build an offense around Jay Cutler, he's going to want some say in the personnel decisions. The implication here is that Angelo can't do the offense. They'd be bringing in Shanahan essentially because of Angelo's failures identifying talent on the offensive side of the ball. I see that as a clash that Angelo, and possibly Shanahan as well, would shy away from.
  21. I would be floored if the Bears even come close. Can't see them doing anything but get manhandled up there. 41-17 Vikings.
  22. Yeah. I would imagine that puts him on pretty thin ice.
  23. Hossa's return Wednesday night promises to make for a great start to the Thanksgiving weekend, win or lose. I'm pretty excited for it.
  24. Surely Shanahan would be preferred among the big names. But I'm not sure he would come here as long as Angelo is the GM.
  25. Well, they're not going to beat Portland in Portland, so last night was a given.
