  1. HahahahHAAAAA! Total Sex man!
  2. That was like the Hawks of a few years ago. Ack.
  3. Hawks are all over the net tonight, this is awesome
  4. The silence in Nashville right now is deafening.
  5. It's probably time to let Kreutz go. Beek will be center and they'll need a better OG. It cannot be Omiyale.
  6. Hopefully Florida can suck now--for a good long time.
  7. The thought of the Cubs' roster looking more & more like the Pirates is enough to turn me off to the idea.
  8. Yeah. They are looking awfully good. Having them in the mix and playing great will only make the playoffs that much more interesting, from my perspective.
  9. I don't see any way the 2010 Cubs could return to 2008 performance levels, but they are quite welcome to prove me wrong. Personally I think the writing is on the wall, and this team is going to need to be rebuilt. If the general consensus is that we'd like to give it a go in 2010 and delay that rebuilding effort for a year or so, I guess it's not going to kill me.
  10. I really believe both Lovie and Jerry must go in order to get Shanahan or Cowher.
  11. that's the tri-fecta. It could give us a good boost rebuilding the team. Trouble is, do you trust Hendry to be the guy responsible for getting max value in return?
  12. Come to think of it, I wouldn't mind seeing several of our players "shopped." Why not see what value we could get--even for some of the more productive players on the roster?
  13. Loving how Niemi is coming along.
  14. They just got lucky. It was just an unlikely win. We'll rack up a heck of a lot of points outshooting teams like that, so an offhand weird loss or two shouldn't worry us all that much.
  15. It's ESPN's lead story right now. If it's true that Childress really thinks it is wrong for Favre to audible, then he's an idiot. And it's really stupid for Childress to behave as if he didn't know exactly what he was getting when he pursued Favre. This is what the man is. Pretending he's Tavaris Jackson who needs to be spoon-fed plays is just dumb.
  16. I wonder if last year's run was del harris' doing. And now that he's gone, vinny lost his little crutch. At any rate, it is laughable for anyone to suggest that vinny should get some kind of deference because he squeaked in to the playoffs last year and his team had a better-than-expected losing effort. Wilbon tried to argue that point on PTI yesterday.
  17. So Childress thinks his hall of fame QB calling an audible 5 times a game is too much? Wow. I think I'm beginning to understand why, despite having an overall great season, many Viking fans just don't like this guy. That seems insane.
  18. As a bear fan, I can't fully convey my anger at being "just what the doctor ordered" for a currently struggling Vikings squad who might otherwise be ripe for the plucking. "we quit" football has become the hallmark of Lovie and his gang of bozo underlings. Fire everyone.
  19. Vinny represents a major credibility gap for this franchise. The sooner they acknowledge it and fire him, the better. I don't want to be here in March still discussing the insanity of his hiring and wondering why nothing is STILL being done about it. If I'm a big time free agent, yes the fact that they let something like this fester for additional months would be just another red flag pushing me towards other options.
  20. Hi Ho Vinny must go. Hi Ho Vinny must go!
  21. Yeah, I'm going to forego the EI subscription this year, in anticipation of a relatively frustrating year as a Cub fan.
  22. I just saw this on the highlights. Vinny must go. Fire him over the holidays, Pax.
  23. The way I look at the coach/gm salary situation is this: sometimes profit and winning come into conflict. Sometimes, when you've taken the responsibility as owner, you need to decide which is more important. Are you more interested in producing a winner? Or are you willing to watch your team languish for money's sake? The McCaskeys must make that decision. But food for thought: Bill Wirtz valued his bottom line more. History will judge him very, very harshly in terms of his ownership of the Hawks because of that.
  24. It will be very interesting to see what the Hawks can do on this stretch of games. Should make for some very entertaining hockey.
  25. Angelo apparently denied reports that Lovie is safe for 2010. That's something at least. Surely Jerry knows Lovie is going to take his career in Chicago down with him.
