  1. It's not really the same at all. There was perhaps 1 sentence in there that reeked of sour grapes, but there were a lot of valid points in there describing a terrible experience for watching a baseball game. And they're all things you're going to encounter at pretty much every stadium that isn't Wrigley, Fenway or Yankee Stadium. That's not even remotely close to being true. Yeah, it really is.
  2. Stop sucking with runners on plz. Thanks.
  3. Gotta start get some big hits with runners on. It didn't sit well with me seeing good ABs with our setup guys, getting on base, then seeing Lee & ARam hack like anxious rookies. Show a little patience up there. The pitcher was a greenhorn who should have been nervous with runners on, not the other way around.
  4. I don't watch enough golf to quantify it statistically, but what I find most enjoyable about Phil is when he gets into trouble and makes an unbelievable shot to get out of trouble. He seems to have that gift, and it makes for great drama. 2nd to watching Tiger play golf in general, I'd say watching Phil save holes with incredible shots from well off the intended path is my favorite thing to watch.
  5. Still, what the original post said basically describes a ton of ballparks & fans around the league. The fact is, Wrigley or Fenway, or Yankee Stadium -- these places are more packed, with more enthusiastic fans, than most other ballparks/fans. Saying Cincinnati is the worst in the league doesn't add up, based on those criticisms.
  6. I don't think they are, but I guess you never know. We're fine so far. 2-4 after an opening road trip isn't going to make me lose it. Let's see where we are at the end of the month. Starting pitching has been fantastic. I can't believe our bats will stay this cool. The inability to hold teams in the 8th inning does concern me, but Marmol has been pretty good. I don't know. I'm not as concerned as what I'm hearing from a lot of people so far.
  7. it means a lot for a possible second round matchup I really think the Hawks getting past the first round means our 2nd round opponent will be facing a hot Hawks team (i.e. one of the best teams in the league).
  8. I'd freak out if that happened. In a good way :)
  9. when you suck at hitting and have a terrible bullpen? Not very.
  10. Let's make Russell the guy who comes in before the other team scores the winning runs. Caridad can do the mop up duty after we've already lost
  11. Caridad doesn't look ready for high pressure situations like this.
  12. They'd have to cross the country to play us too.
  13. Yes that would be. I don't see sitting him a couple games as making a determination though. He didn't say it had larger implications. That said, I too would like to see more Soto than Hill. I still think we will.
  14. Whoever turned Marmol's slider back on gets the early season gold star award. I love watching hitters fail against that pitch
  15. Nobody confuses me for an optimist, but this is just ridiculous. At least wait for May before becoming hysterical. For the vast majority of clubs nobody really knows anything until about June. Clubs start out one way and end the other way all the time. Kap was completely correct--stop with this nonsense
  16. He said Hill caught 2 games so Soto would be matched up with Zambrano and fresh. He said he likes Hill's defensive skills. He said Soto needs to hit. I don't see the overreaction. Soto does need to hit. I'm not sure Hill is all that special defensively, but whatever.
  17. Embarrassing, yes. Shocking? Not really. This Bulls team has a couple nice pieces, but they've been prone to put up a stinker all year long. And they've lost to NJ earlier in the season too. They just aren't very good.
  18. I'm somewhat glad about Detroit no longer being a possible first round opponent but, also, I was kind of hoping they would have been. All the crap about the Wings being the team no one wants to play in the first round is a load of bs, this is not last year's Wings or that of two years ago. They're not as good, they're not better the Hawks and the Hawks would have taken them in six games. I really wanted to see the Hawks beat them in the playoffs unfortunately, I don't think the Wings are going to make it out of the first round. I'll let some other team test out your theory, thank you very much :) I'm thrilled the Hawks won't meet Detroit in the 1st round!
  19. Maybe this whole baseball thing can wait. Go Hawks!!
  20. They win with half our hits and 3 errors. Lovely
  21. LOL, a mediocre 8th innng pitcher wins us this game. Nice BP we've got here.
  22. it's what bad bullpens will get you.
  23. And the offense is anemic so this one's most likely over.
