  1. I think off the court Rose is a wuss, but he's been a beast on the court. Showing a lot more emotion and leadership on the court than last year. No he's not a cocky jackass or anything, or a player who thinks every foul against him is a crime against humanity, but he's got court swagger. Not enough. Women & Weed. Get him some of both. That'll fix him.
  2. I don't mind the moves they've made, other than killing their own chances to get something in return for Brown.
  3. I know. I love it.
  4. Hmmm interesting. I'd rather keep him and let him, Afalava, and Harris battle for a starting spot, but he does look like the #3 to me at this point, so if we took Bullocks instead it wouldn't be a huge deal. I'd probably keep Payne. He's probably the best FS on the roster at this point (I know, not saying much), not knowing what Major Wright will do. But even if you figure Harris and Wright as starters, Payne would be the first likely to get time at FS and would at least be in the mix w/ Afalava at SS. I figured Bullocks and Steltz were in trouble w/ an outside shot you could find a trade partner for Danieal Manning. Yeah, what the hell. Payne is lower on the depth chart than Steltz and Bullocks? How is that?
  5. He really must have. I was hoping the Vikings would look at him for RG but they had no interest. Neither did the Bears, neither did the vast majority of the league. I pretty much only watched the Jets in the playoffs last year and while their o-line in general was very good, I never really focused in on him enough to tell. Angelo publicly said that he had interest in Faneca. I heard him say that too, but I think history has shown that Angelo doesn't necessarily say publicly what he's really thinking/doing behind the scenes.
  6. Took him far too long to compile his "Cub Report" and get ready for his debrief. I expect the Cards to quietly punish their little agent.
  7. Whew. Such a relief to not need to worry about that guy anymore.
  8. Wha?? The Hawks finished with 112 points and the Canucks finished with 103 points...or do you mean that they had the same number of points when you take out shootout wins? Which is a really weird stat. Hawks had a better regular season, but not by too much. I do think they are a good match for us in the playoffs. It should be a hell of a series. I like playing these guys. If we can beat them again, I think it bodes very well for us in the conference finals. I also love the homerism that comes out of Vancouver. They make me laugh.
  9. I believe it was Kesler who said in the papers that he was not going fall for the temptation to fight with Ladd, then took about 10 seconds before seeking him out to get into a fight. So yeah, we'll see how serious the Canucks are about not being too emotional. Talk is cheap.
  10. Yeah, Harris was decent. He seemed to show more with Carolina too. At the time we operated under the delusion that Archuleta was a good fit for Lovie's D, and that his problems with Washington were because he went to a system that didn't fit him. That was clearly wrong, in hindsight.......as was the release of Harris. I understand what Lovie & Angelo were trying to do, but it was clearly a miss.
  11. Anderson is pretty good, but their color guy is a shameless excuse maker/apologist, plus he sounds like he is always talking with his mouth full. Their color guy is Bill Schroeder. I don't find him to be particularly shameless when compared to others. Actually is quite complimentary to the Cubs when they do something good. I really don't mind needing to watch the Crew's broadcast when the Cubs play them.
  12. In that case 2010 looks to be like most every year.
  13. I choose to believe Ramirez has just woken up, as evidenced by last night's performance. I'll wait to be proven otherwise. Lee? Hopefully soon. I have no reason to believe he won't get it going. In the meantime there have been plenty of good things happening in our lineup with other players. I'm encouraged.
  14. That's how I feel about it. He's just there cheering on the Cubs, rather than providing much insight. I don't really care if he's "good" or not.
  15. So it's the white, shining, clean, champion Canucks standing on a hill defending the Holy Land of Vancouver... ......against the fat, nasty, low-life, dirty, cheating Hawks. LOL, gotta love Canadian hockey fans.
  16. Enough with the damn makeup calls, k?!?
  17. Win tonight, or I shall be very distressed and grumpy and prone to alcohol consumption.
  18. LOL that article is pretty much what I would expect to read on a fan blog.
  19. If LeFevour impresses, then just cut Hanie and replace him with LeFevour. That wouldn't be any worse situation in case of injury than we would have had last year if Cutler went down. If they're really worried about a Cutler injury, then that's new: they certainly didn't care much about it last year considering who they would have had to play in Jay's place.
  20. The Ramirez slump surely won't last much longer (I know, famous last words). He actually had much better ABs in the 2 games I saw him this weekend. He made solid contact a few times -- just didn't place it where the defenders weren't. He didn't look lost at the plate. Of course, Brewer pitching is bad, but then again so is the pitching for some other teams.
  21. Most knew it from the beginning, but yeah: Crew's got some major league pitching problems. Fun couple of games to be at. Had a good time.
  22. Ok. For some reason I was thinking O got more. My bad.
  23. Well I don't know anything about how the league judges suspensions, but I have to try to be unbiased. The Hossa hit looked nearly identical to Ovechkin's, except a little less malicious. O got what, 8 games? Seems like the league would look at a lesser suspension for Hossa, but still a suspension. I haven't heard of one yet though.
  24. Was at the game tonight. Was great to see Lilly get off to a good start. Brewer fans at the game seemed even more disdainful of Cub fans than usual. That's about it. Oh, thanks for leaving Narveson in even though he was sucking, Macha. That was helpful.
