  1. It's true, at least for me, that if this was the Cubs I'd be in a paddy wagon by now.
  2. my bad I do the same thing all the damn time. Not a problem :)
  3. The cure to all of this is to simply WIN THIS [expletive] GAME TONIGHT.
  4. Read it again.
  5. If he goes back to Cleveland, my feeling is that he becomes the greatest player to never win a championship. How can you possibly predict something like that? They've never done it, even with 7 years of arguably the greatest player of his time. Jordan didn't win a title til his 7th season. And LeBron is 2 years younger than Jordan was when he won his 1st title. They're Cleveland. They don't win stuff. I never said I was making a hard core prediction, btw. It's just a feeling.
  6. FYP At least allow me my sliver of hope.
  7. It's Chicago sports. We beat ourselves up until the last moment of either glory or devastation.

  9. From what I've heard, confidence in the Philly locker room is pretty high right now. I don't know about the fans, but I'd look at the team's confidence first. They feel like they should be up in this series, and that they played us very well in our building. If they can win tonight, I'm sure they feel very good about being able to take one in Chicago. Does that amount to a hill of beans? I don't know. But I do believe the confidence edge has to be with Philly right now, despite being down 2-1. That said, this Hawks team has responded to losses well and shown they are resilient. So I don't know. If we lose tonight, color me panicked.
  10. The regular season would be what I would point to. However, it has become clear to me that Philly has somehow become a much better team than they were in the regular season, so now I'm not so sure the Hawks are heads-and-shoulders better. I do believe Niemi > Leighton, but that's not going to matter much if we continue to let them dominate the puck in our zone, get open looks on the back side, and allow all of this stuff at critical moments.

  12. No. If you and other rational posters start panicking, an over-emotional zealot like myself might fall completely off the ledge :)
  13. What the heck was Jordan Hendry doing on a shift after a goal, anyway? I don't know. You need to let your opponent marinate in their little defeat for awhile. Make 10-12 minutes go by with them being down by a goal. Of course they're going to go for the quick equalizer. Everyone does. I expected the Hawks to be tougher to get an open guy on the back side in that situation, but last night they weren't. It's one thing for a Flyer to make an amazing no-look pass across the ice on a fluky rebound for a goal. I can almost live with that. But that tying goal just looked like taking candy from a baby to me. I don't know hockey all that well, but it just looked way too easy.
  14. I was most disappointed with how quickly the Hawks gave up the 3-2 lead. We had a huge goal by Kaner and then it seemed like before I could breathe it was tied again. I don't know how many times I've said it, but I'll say it again: DO NOT LET THEM ANSWER!!!!!!!
  15. Right. My big fear is that last night's win causes Philly to win a few in a row...
  16. Absolutely yes without a doubt. Yes. I'll take anything other than a sudden, series-destroying Philly winning streak.
  17. Orders for Sopel jerseys just went up among angry die-hards
  18. Hartnell has been very good
  19. Crap how did we mess that up?!?
  20. This one's shaping up badly. It's been 2 periods since I felt like we've played well.
  21. I don't understand why I hear people say Philly can't skate with us. They look like they are skating just fine to me.
  22. Turnovers in our zone are beginning to concern me
