  1. I just wish NW would have been healthy to make it a game. I know no one cares but in terms of NW seasons they were having a good one. Now the air is let out of the balloon. For the few of us who care it's pretty disappointing. I would much rather have had the wildcats healthy a winning than the illini qualify for some game that is pretty much a joke (and they might lose anyway, whatever it is)
  2. Who missed that tackle on Gerhart? That was horrible.
  3. Now we've got a football game @ Wrigley, gents.
  4. What really sucks about this game is the fact that only one team showed up. Everything else has been fascinating.
  5. I think this will be fun, last minute rule change and all.
  6. LT and RT should be our top priorities in the offseason. On question #2, I have little doubt that a playoff appearance will completely and totally confirm Angelo's philosophy in his mind, and the OLine will receive no more attention in the draft than it has in Angelo's previous drafts.
  7. The Manning hit felt like a watershed moment for him. I've never seen him lay it on someone like that. I had to do a double-take on the jersey number.
  8. I think PHI is probably a bit too tall an order for us, but we'll have to see. Practice practice. I like how this team has been improving. Next week will be a big test of how far they've really come.
  9. what on earth? cutler and the defense are the reasons we are successful, he is one of the best in the game right now. i've stated that i'd take no other qb ahead of him in this system, with this offensive line, except for rodgers, maybe, and vick looks good as of right now. but jay is the man. Um, I think the true answer is somewhere in between you two. Rodgers, Manning, Brees, Vick, Brady, and Rivers just off the top of my head. It's still ridiculous to suggest we don't have a QB.
  10. They keep talking about how we're "keeping them in it" Hell, I'm just happy we're in the lead. It's not like we are this juggernaut team and it's a miracle the Phins are close. This is a tough road game for us. Any lead we have no matter what is a good thing.
  11. Bennett vs. Davis on a jump ball. FAIL.
  12. Here's where we've gotten itchy -- turned it over this year.
  13. YEAH. CUTLER MAN.
  14. Yeah, the whole world could see that hold.
  15. The Giants and Jets share a stadium. So do the Rangers and Knicks. The Devils are letting the Nets hang at their place while they wait to leave the state they are named after. Fans wouldn't want it because fans are irrational beings. But rational people would actually make the decisions. There's a certain rationale to listening to your goofy fans, if they're loud & angry enough. At least make it look like you're taking them into consideration.
  16. No! Roach almost had 6 there.
  17. Gould saves the 3 points. Almost yet another terrible turnover in position to score.
  18. Get the points when you can. I think a big key is not turning it over when we can get points.
  19. Olsen did actually have a decent seal on that run.
  20. Yeah, and I thought they were bad before. Well actually they were. But this is like watching a locally broadcast high school game.
  21. Our opening drive was just a tad less than impressive.
  22. I'll go: Bears 20 Miami 17 Close game, relatively low score.
  23. STL is unrealistic. But money would be involved so I am sure Milwaukee and the White Sox would welcome some extra income to take on some Cubs home games for a season. Of all the options I put up there, Milwaukee and the Cell are the only two that seem realistic, although still problematic. I think Reinsdorf would dig his heels in. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me like he would be horrified at the prospect of allowing the Cubs to play games in his park. I guess we'd have to see how persuasive a pot of money would be for him. Milwaukee might be the best option. There's already an experience of many Cub fans making the trek up to Milwaukee for Cub games. The Brewers would no doubt not want Cub fans taking over their park, but there's also no doubt that they don't mind taking Cub fan money. And when the hurricane hit in Houston, they were willing to allow a Cub/Stros game to take place in their building without too much fuss. I think it would take some league persuasion and some solid dollar figures -- but they'd let it happen. They'd hold their noses and count the money.
  24. When you get home, you'll either be elated that you missed the game (which is a bad thing), or feel awful that you missed the game (which is a good thing) I've been there ;)
  25. Well, Soldier field is too small because it's only scoped for football. The folks in Milwaukee aren't likely to want to give over their stadium for Cubs home games. I don't think Northwestern has the place. Ryan field has a big track around, right? - so that probably wouldn't work. The Big 10 baseball stadiums are small because baseball isn't all that huge in the Big 10. You aren't going to want to put them in a minor league stadium because of the obvious capacity limitations. Cardinals would die first before allowing the Cubs to play there. So would the Sox, I think. I'm running out of ideas here.
