  1. Yeah, I kept looking up at the scoreboard and our shot differential was looking good, but score wasn't. What I saw was abysmal defense. Just terrible gaffs in our zone. Also just not knowing so many names. It really hit me yesterday just much turnover there's been. It's not a good situation right now...
  2. Chicago will have its QB's blood. It always does.
  3. It's just some idiot who doesn't know what he's doing. Sounds like he probably got fired too. I've been on the guest list before and some fool didn't know where the list was and turned me away. 5 minutes later another person lets me in. These guys aren't exactly the brightest bulbs....mistakes happen.
  4. Well, it's not a good stretch for Hossa to be out but I'm relieved that it isn't a more serious injury. I'll take it.
  5. You know, I just harken back to 4-5 years ago goony & I & others looking at this thing and going "this is a problem - if it doesn't get solved we're in for big trouble" This was back when John Tait was our solution, and it certainly wasn't enough and wasn't going to be a solid plan for the future. And almost all of us knew it. And now here we are, and it's big trouble. For once it would be nice for someone who is being paid big dollars to see what us lowly fans see and do something about it before we're put in to collective football hell.
  6. Well, we can all agree that it DOES matter. I am sooooo ready to move on from Jerry Angelo.
  7. I'd like to believe that, but it was pretty obvious that the line was "borked" last year as well and somehow Angelo managed to completely ignore the oline in the offseason. In fact, he made it worse. As insane as it sounds right now, I wouldn't be shocked at this point if he didn't make a ton of moves on the line in the offseason. Maybe a 3rd round pick to throw the fans a bone and a signing a declining veteran or two. But I cannot see Angelo making this his number 1 offseason priority. You don't go from ignoring a position group almost completely for 5-6 years and then all the sudden placing a huge emphasis on it. It's obvious Angelo doesn't, for whatever reason, think the offensive line has as much impact on an offense than the rest of us do. I think he's tried a little and failed. Williams pick -- fail. Signing a bunch of FAs from other teams -- fail. He just can't do it well. So he throws out this "oh well it doesn't really matter anyway" line.
  8. Yeah, it's just Angelo throwing crap out there because he knows the whole thing is borked and he has no solution to it.
  9. Dammit about Hossa. Pray for luck, everyone.
  10. So I guess the key to a solid OLine is continuity, not talent. .....unless you have a guy hurt, then it's switcheroo time. Or something.
  11. The only way Phillips keeps his job is if the Cowboys make the playoffs. I don't see anyway that happens. If Kitna goes 7-3, we'll still be 8-8 on the season. The bad news for Phillips is the 1-5 start was accomplished with Romo, so he won't have the injury excuse to fall back on. Sometimes a team under siege will rally. It's possible they could get their legs under them a bit and surprise a few teams. I'm still thinking 5 wins though, maybe 6. I would definitely fall out of my chair if Wade is back next year.
  12. They do have games against DET and ARI. But they also have GB, PHI (2), NYG, IND, WAS, JAC I'll go 5 wins. DET, ARI, WAS, and then a surprise win somewhere. Maybe they beat the Jags next week -- but it might be too soon.
  13. I don't know. Here's what I suggest: let's not turn this into rocket science. The guy with the best percentage on challenges is Coughlin. Just find out how he's doing it, and copy it. Done.
  14. Interesting. I would have thought around 50 as well. Of course, I know little about basketball. But still. Bulls might not have landed the big fish, but look at the obvious improvements they've made. This should be a solid team.
  15. Of course Hall is going to start jumping routes. Actually I mentioned that WAS would start jumping routes after we had used the 3 step drop for awhile. That's just life in the NFL.
  16. Unless they don't believe the stadium will actually empty out.
  17. Yes, his health. That must be it.
  18. Thank the gods the Bears don't play.
  19. Somebody other than the ref on the field decides, right? I like that, but I hate that they review so frequently. I also don't like how they review plays. More often that not, they determine that the play is inconclusive (even when there's enough visual evidence to overturn a call) and don't change the call that's on the field. It's a better system than what the NFL has but the head ref should be able to go under the hood, unlike in college. What's wrong with the NHL system? They just buzz in when there's a play that should be reviewed. Also, I don't like how the decision to review is based on whether the network gets the right replay up on the screen in time for the next snap. Someone should have quicker access to those camera angles. Also, I don't like the whole "snap the ball quickly so they can't challenge!" thing. It's a loophole. The point is to get the call right, not allow bad plays to stand based on a technicality.
  20. I understand Lovie is taking a beating over this, and he should. I'm very angry over it. However, the limiting of the damage by the refs is only possible two times per game, 3 only if you get both of the first 2 correct. Coaches need to decide not only if they should challenge, but weigh whether or not they are using their last challenge and not be able to overturn more horrible ref calls later on. That's simply not fair. In this case, regardless of whether Lovie got it right or not, that would have been the last challenge with plenty of game left to go. He had just lost one. To me, there's no letting the refs off the hook. They're making horrible call after horrible call. This one looks to me like it was a pretty straightforward, easy call. The ball goes right through the plane. There aren't a ton of guys blocking the view. The ref is stationed right on the line for the express purpose of being able to make that PARTICULAR call. I'm sorry, but if the ref can't get that one right he needs to be given his walking papers. Period. And if refs as a whole can't make easy calls, then there needs to be more challenges possible in some way so teams aren't put in such bad positions as needing to decide if they should allow bad reffing to happen or if they should spend their last challenge.
  21. The modern-day reincarnation of Gladiator bloodsport? Hell no. Grind 'em into the turf. THUMBS DOWN
  22. Seeing both the Vikings and Cowboys kind of implode this week has eased my Bear pain a little bit. Except I'd rather see Romo INTs than see him go down with injury
  23. Did jay just say screw it?? All INTs came after the lovie no challenge, correct? :-k Now I wonder...
  24. I know it's not his fault for Romo, but come on Wade can't possibly survive such a crushing trainwreck of a season. This is a colossal miss of expectations. Biblical.
