  1. C'mon Byrd, give me one of those Conte blasters.
  2. On ESPN1000, they said 3 weeks. Where did you hear 6-8? Big blow as he was having a good series and giving us a physical presence. http://blackhawks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=560987 Says full recovery in 6-8 weeks Geez, that's a winger from left field. That might be a bigger loss than it seems at first. I didn't like Bickell all that much during the regular season, but he found his role in this series. Bolland did a little. Seabs started to hit a little more after returning from being rattled himself. Campbell maybe. We'll need someone else to lay big hits on Canucks.
  3. He wasn't hustling like Barney would have. And his demeanor. Sorry, but I'm just not catching the right vibe.
  4. You bench him because he just doesn't care enough. Obviously.
  5. Reaches for DVR.. Damn it, I can roll back the tape 20 minutes, but I can't roll back TIME 20 minutes.
  6. Come on, hold that 3 run lead until the 6th, then let the rains pour down.
  7. Alert: the bases are loaded. and it's raining.
  8. Through the first with no runs surrendered. Nothing can stop us now!
  9. I won't hate Fuld. But it is interesting that usually a team gets power at the sacrifice of speed. The Cubs sacrificed speed and still wound up with no power.
  10. Small meaning 27th largest metro area in the US. Like for instance, I used to live in Baltimore, which has about 700K more in its metro and has been around just as long, and they don't have nearly as many metro-exclusive chains as Cincinnati has. well....that's...because...it's......baltimore.... Baltimore is 100 times better than Cincinnati. I won't bite.

  12. It's not *that* small. Remember, it extends into Kentucky. And the Dayton folks are generally considered to be part of the equation, as it's just down the road.
  13. Alright wise guys, I get it. =D>

    Dempster

This can't be the Dempster we'll see all year. It's a blip. He'll do better.
  15. OK, Penn Station is good. But it is a sub shop, after all. A good one, true.
  16. http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/Canucks+with+more+fear+than+fear+itself+wrap+their+heads+around+Game/4668266/story.html So the Canucks are attempting to remain calm. Which sucks. I want more hand-wringing :) I do take issue with the idea that the Ben Smith goal was just a lucky goal -- which is mentioned in another VanSun article. Yes, Luongo stopped some shots, which is certainly a positive for him. But he was giving up rebounds, which isn't. The Ben Smith goal was at least the 3rd big rebound he gave up. He actually was the lucky one -- lucky that the other two rebounds that I saw didn't find Blackhawk sticks. Also, while they dominated the 3rd period, I thought the Hawks did a nice job changing that in the OT, generating some offense, which eventually resulted in the winning score. So I guess it's all about how you look at it.
  17. LOL, whut? That place should be shut down on principle.
  18. You knew Rose sprained his ankle, so it shouldnt be any kind of surprise that he was in a walking boot today. That's what I mean by not a big deal. As I said, its common practice for teams to do that with ankle injuries. I just hope it's not something that lingers. Maybe I shouldn't have shot back that it's a "big deal." I just don't want to have to think about Rose and injuries, and whether that's the reason he didn't have a good game, or whatever.
  19. They won because God does not like the Canucks.
  20. You know I love to stick it to the Canucks, but there have been some well-balanced opinions coming from their fan base as well. Yes, there's the hysteria and general butt-hurtedness that comes with blowing a 3 game lead, but it hasn't been all bad.
