  1. It just seems like a bizarre, out-of-character hire for the Steelers.
  2. Ben went all in on that. He said he hopes his coaches get opportunities elsewhere.
  3. Thanks! Good stuff throughout. What immediately caught my attention was his comment about how we are starting back from the beginning. There is no building on last season. Obviously not 100% true but as a mindset I like it a lot.
  4. To me, EDGE is a higher priority. LT is 2nd. We successfully drafted what was going to be a solid LT in the 2nd round last year and it didn't even take a season to figure that out. There's real development capability on this coaching staff. I'm comfortable targeting a 2nd tier prospect in the draft because of this. I'd go hard for EDGE. 1st round pick, significant moves to acquire in trade UFA, etc. Need to be able to get pressure with 4 rush. In my view, that changes the D so much. That said, 2 1st rounders for Maxx? I'm not so sure. Maybe. I'm gun shy because of Mack. Packers found out what happens when you bet that much on one guy and he goes down.
  5. I can accept that for sure. My comment was a reaction to what I saw as a lot of commentary that the Bears were going to have a large advantage over the Rams and it didn't really happen that way. There were too many drops by Bears receivers and the Rams didn't have drops. Our line wasn't able to impose its will on the Rams in the run game even in the latter part of the game when I'd expect "Bear weather" to help if it was really a factor. I was impressed by the pressure we were getting on Stafford. And seeing our DBs play in coverage the way they did made me wonder how the defense would have been if we were healthy all year.
  6. Yes. When you get to a game at this level any loss hurts more. But when you are sitting right at the edge of victory and self-destruct it hurts even worse.
  7. Yeah, from 2006 - 2018 in the pros, he was only able to muster lateral moves as a defensive backs coach through several organizations. That's an awful lot of people who didn't see much in him. I'm aware I'm trashing the guy. Maybe he turns out to be incredible.
  8. OK but it's still a crappy tenure and he looked like a clown trying to coach his team when Rodgers came in. To say he was overshadowed by his QB as a coach is being generous.
  9. What's your take on Hafley's ability to be a HC? I'm looking at his career right now. It's rather long, almost exclusively as a position coach, and his stint at Boston College as head coach was short and not good.
  10. I'm not sure why Salah would get another bite of the apple after his stint with NYJ. Especially so soon.
  11. The "Bear weather" benefitted the Rams. I don't want to hear that crap ever again. Everyone plays in the same weather in a game like that.
  12. The SEC dominance is OVAH. The silence coming from that part of the country is deafening. Suck it losers!
  13. This was great because it proves that yes, you can take a program from nowhere to the top. no 5 stars. Heisman QB was declined as a walk on by Miami. wow.
  14. Guess they must want to tap into that Le Flower tree.
  15. So many things. Goes right back to the first drive. How does Rome not haul that TD pass in? How many drops can a team have? Bears were testing the limit all damn game.
  16. Would Harbaugh have been the right choice for them though? I have my doubts. I'm thinking they want a young offense-minded coach.
  17. He had one hell of a year. He was meh last night though. But yeah....a great QB for sure.
  18. Remember when one of the knocks on Caleb was that he couldn't hit the deep ball? Nobody says that anymore. He's already made great strides in the accuracy department. Might not show up in the cmp% but there are throws he just wasn't making before, and now he hits them.
  19. I'll echo hmmmm.....but mostly because he may well have been told get the hell out of there just because nobody wanted him to have to answer all those questions. Especially if he was concussed. Then it gets even worse, with the guy possibly not really with it and then the whole thing blows up even more. I'm making some BIG guesses on that though. We may never find out exactly what happened there. Did he give up on a route because that's something he has done in the past? Was he concussed and confused? Did he run the wrong route (i.e. honest miscommunication)? Man it's frustrating as hell. That throw was our ticket to the NFCCG.
  20. Man that's tough. Never got over that hump. I guess losing to Mahomes and the Chiefs in their prime is one thing. Losing to "lollipop Nix" is quite another. Also I wonder if they want to do the copy-cat thing and hire a young offensive-minded coach like everyone else.
  21. 😂😂😂 I’m all ears. How does one “adjust” to the 4th down throw last week or the one that just happened?
  22. This wasn’t some regular season game. I just can’t believe any player just says screw it in that situation. Something else happened. He was banged up. He was in the tent. Maybe he really was concussed.
  23. The idea that DJ was dogging it doesn’t compute for me. That can’t be it. Not there. Not with an opportunity to clinch a trip to the NFCCG. It had to be something else.
  24. I guess all I can say is that better decisions has to be part of the growth of the team. The electric playmaking is there. Now it has to be honed.
